In most cases, the ceiling of the team is determined by the best player.  If Pierce is the best player on the team this team can be very good.  If KG is the best player on the team this team can win the title.  That makes KG the most valuable, but as others have said everyone has a definite role to play.

KG definitely. He is such an ass out there and throws the mental game off for the competition. Even though most call it "defense"

Pierce second. Smart and clutch, but not usually dominant.
