Positive Rondo Thread

I figured this title would be enough to distinguish it  

After a slow stretch of mediocre numbers and sometimes lackadaisical play, Rondo appears to be really settling into his game and getting into a great groove.  I loved his confidence attacking and shooting open jumpers last night - his stroke still isn't great, but confident shooters are almost always better shooters, and he's hit some big shots over the last few games.  His FT% has gone from "historically atrocious" to "pretty lousy for a PG" over the last few games - still a hole in his game, but I'll take it.  He's taking far fewer plays off on D and stepping up to the challenge of asserting himself as the best PG on the floor every night.  And, of course, he's still moving the ball phenomenally well and creating shots for our scorers. 

Any other player on the team can have a lousy night, and we can usually be OK.  But if Rondo has a bad night we are almost always in trouble, and when he's truly stepping up we become very, very tough to beat.  Dare I say...team MVP?

I hate Rondo. He can't shoot, he's too cocky and immature. He's uncoachable and he'll never be the best player on a championship team.

Oh crap wrong thread.

Positive: Rondo is the pulse of our team (KG is the soul if you were wondering).
He directly dictates pace of games and no one in the NBA can slow him down. Lately he has commited to dictating pace for 4 quarters and it has been a pleasure to watch. I love the kid..everything about his game even the flaws because they ultimately will make him a better player once he irons them out.

Yup, Rondo has been great these past two weeks and it's a pleasure to watch him play. I sure make his praise after every game but I don't want to fall into the "Rondo is awesome all the time" mode because so far, each time I've been thinking "Rondo is finally getting it and getting consistent!" he stopped playing so well.

So, I will wait and see before making a true judgement but it sure looks like his shooting touch, both from midrange and from the free throw line, is becoming efficient AND consistent, and it's all good. Also, he plays well on D, is involved, plays inspired offense and seems to improve his "Now is the team to take the game under my control" mentality.

Keep it up Rajon!

Rondo has looked very good lately, much less tentative than earlier.  It's very encouraging to see him get to the line seven times (and make five of them).  The more aggressive he is, the more complete our entire team is.
