No Tony Allen.

Tony's gonna come back and average like 15 points and 3 steals for about 10 games, and we'll have our spark back.

Then he'll probably break his arm or something.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale

I love it...

But it isn't quite as crazy as it sounds.

Who is the energy player right now?  Not Eddie, at the moment.  I don't think I'd say that Daniels is it, either, and Sheed certainly isn't screaming "energy" these days (though solid position defense is important).

At one time, TA was a young, athletic player who could do the things we need in the rotation, like on-ball defense, chase loose balls, and slash.  He probably isn't that guy any more, but we still need someone to do that, even if they make some mistakes along the way.  The mistakes will be made up for as other players pick up their energy and intensity to match.

Got me thinking maybe Giddens should get some run in the first half...

Actually I think it's sad and it makes me want to cry. A couple years ago this doesn't seem that unrealistic. Even during our championship season TA was pretty decent during the first half of the season. Now this almost* seems like an impossibility. If TA managed this he would be the comeback player of the decade.

tony allen can ball

i feel this team dont have energy cause we got so many to fall back on no one has really stepped up and took a leadership role...if each one of our stars played like they did before they came together it would be crazy..

Good Discussion...

I remember when TA was healthy (for a minute) and he was THE man back in 2006-2007 when Paul Pierce went down with that injury. He averaged like 24 pts or something. And he did not need a lot of touches to get those points, either.

And then (unfortunately) he went up for that silly dunk after the foul and hurt himself.

He is only 27..once he comes back I would not put it past him (or Glen Davis) to provide the sparks we need.

TA can slash, get to the line, and make his free throws. He just doesn't have the long three-pt range. And he is an above avg defender.
