Chalk this up to "you know you're on CB too much when you make threads like this one"

Say some 7 year old comes to my door and is like "Trick or Treat" and I give him peanut m&ms or reeses peanut butter cups

He goes home and tries it, but has a severe allergy to peanuts and dies. Assuming they can trace the stuff back to me am I going to jail?

I guess this also assumes he was 7 and didn't know he had allergies to peanuts.  And that the parents didn't know or weren't with their 7 year old.

Hmmmm. Nevertheless. I've done too much typing to delete this now.

No you won't be held responsible. If he doesn't know he was allergic to peanuts by then he had to find out at some time.  If he did know he was allergic then it is the parent's responsibility to monitor what their children eat.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
puttting up a sign that says "Candy may contain peanuts" probably would make you feel a lil better and wouldn't be a big pain at all.
