Christmas and Thanksgiving in a close second. I love these holidays cause everyone is together and the weather is nice.

Thanksgiving

Nonsectarian, family oriented, good food. You don't have to decorate, shop or wrap anything.

this country still does not have a National Holiday for Native Americans

Having Columbus Day's name changed would definitely be a way to resolve this issue. All and all, it's probably one of New England's finest fall weekends and shouldn't go to waste.

My answer depends on what kind of holiday you are talking about.
Christmas has is special because of the family time, getting off work and seeing loved ones you don't always get to see because life happens.

But if you ask me which holidays are the most fun because of the holiday itself.  I have to go with Halloween and St. Patty's day.  They barely qualify as holidays since you don't get a day off work.  They are days you have to blow a day of vacation to celebrate properly.  Halloween, I love the whole costumes at the bar thing.  I live in Texas and will head to Austin for the Halloween party.  Girls dressed in Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.y and creative costumes, the whole sixth street is baracaded (think Madi Gras).  The same thing goes for St. Patty's day, drinking Irish beer staying out at the pub late on a Thurs.  I also love the Irish parades.

Due to this being a Celtics blog I give the edge to St Patty's.

No love for Festivus?

Ah Festivus how could I forget, that gets a TP for sure.

A Festivus for the rest of us!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8g4Ztf7hIM

My favorite part is at about 0:40
Frank Costanza: Many Christmases ago, I went to buy a doll for my son. I reached for the last one they had, but so did another man. As I rained blows upon him, I realized there had to be another way.

Cosmo Kramer: What happened to the doll?

Frank Costanza: It was destroyed. But out of that a new holiday was born: a Festivus for the rest of us!

Kramer: That must have been some doll.

Frank Costanza: She was.[6]

Especially when Frank says "as I rained blows upon him..."  Lol that part and line (along with the "She was" line) always cracks me up.

I really enjoy Thanksgiving.  We are a bit atypical in our celebration of Thanksgiving -- it is just the 4 of us at home -- we decline invitations annually from both sides of the family.
Most folks probably like the family gathering aspect, but this is the only holiday that is at our home and just our family (we travel to upstate NY for Christmas and celebrate Hannukah at relative's).  My daughters (19 and 14) cook with my wife making all the things we enjoy from the traditional to the creative -- while I annoy them.

I love Christmas.  I love the holiday songs and Christmas carols.  I love the tree and decorations. I love the spirit of Christmas.   I love everything about the holiday except the commercialism that surrounds it these days.

If I got to pick two, I'd pick St. Patricks' Day.  Except I celebrate Boston Celtics Day :)  I love a day when everyone in the world joins me in wearing green.  I mean they even made green Fakers shirts.  Gotta love it!

I really irritate my kids when I walk around the house singing that song just before school starts in the fall.  I love Christmas, but the start of school after a month or so of dealing with bored kids at each other's throats is a wonderful time of the year.  :D
