I support the Memphis Grizzlies... because someone should.

That was funny TP.

First of all I don't understand how some of you guys can be Dodgers fans and Red Sox when they're manager is Joe Torre and they have the steroid-jerk Manny Ramirez on their team.

I'm a Manny guy.

So you're a fan of a guy who quits on his team.

Moving to new regions can expand one's allegiances. I moved to LA quite a while ago now.

My teams:
Celtics, Red Sox, Patriots ...and...

Clippers (hate the Lakers), Dodgers (hate the angels), USC football (alum)

I still like Manny. He is amazing entertainment, and a fearsome hitter.

Part of me doesn't blame him for going looney on the sox. THe Sox organization (and Boston Media for baseball) have a history of rubbing people wrong.

In LA, Manny can be a freak in the freak kingdom. Dodger fans are pretty darn strong, and yet don't care about the quirks.

How did the Sox rub Manny wrong... THEY LET HIM DO WHAT EVER HE WANTED FOR THE FOR THE 8 YEARS HE WAS ON THE SOX.. And give me a break Dodger fans are pretty darn strong, the game is a circus there.  And for sometime we didn't care about Manny's quirks... Ever heard of the saying "Manny being Manny".  Manny got away with tons because he could produce good stats... But even playing good doesn't allow you to be an A**-HOLE for forever.

Oh and if you like the quirk of pushing an elder man over because he couldn't get you a certain amount of tickets on the day of the game then there is something wrong with you.

Have you ever been to a Dodger game? Or been to LA for that matter? The fans here LOVE the Lakers, the Dodgers, and then are divided between USC & UCLA football.

Are they as intense as Boston fans? Heck no!! There's a lot more transplants here and outdoors stuff to do.

Manny and Boston was oil and water - they don't mix. However the Red Sox would never have won in 04 and 07 without Manny. Did you complain then?

If you don't think the Sox organization has a history of jerking people around (mostly playing the blame game), you gotta be kidding yourself. The was so much drama on that team before they finally broke through and won it all in 04.

And you know, sometimes its good to have a bit of a wall up and just enjoy the game - because this is all still a game in the end. Enjoy it or don't. But chill out.

Alright, let's get back to the topic on hand.  If you wanna debate the pros & cons of Manny Ramirez, start a new thread.

And no hard feelings to anyone if I offended any of them through my comments.

Yesterday I had an interesting conversation with one of my friends. I had always thought of him as a die hard Sox fan, until I realized for once he wasn't wearing a Sox hat. Thankfully, it wasn't a Yankees hat, but it was a Phillies hat.

He explained that he thought it was perfectly alright to support one team from each league. To me, this has anyways gone against an unwritten law of Sports Morality. Kind of like having two religions if you ask me.

This isn't to say I don't support players from other teams, or whatever but fully supporting two teams in one league (Or in this case, one from the AL and one team from the NL) has always just seemed taboo to me.

Anywhoo, I guess I'm confused now. Kind of like a man being born in a woman's body or something. Is anyone here a fan of two teams?

I wear tons of hats of other teams, people always think I'm a fan of the team on the fitted but it's just for style. I'm die hard Boston.

I think a lot of it depends on how entertaining you think the sport is.

For example, I really like football. I wouldnt call it my favorite sport, but its so entertaining to watch for me that I have about 4-5 teams I casually root for because I watch so much of it, and rooting for a team is alot better than staying neutral. Of course, this all goes out the door when they play the Pats. Whenever the Packers, Titans, or Raiders play I usually hope they win .. just a random thing really and it makes the games more enjoyable.

In Basketball, my 'favorite sport' I have two teams Im die hard for. Celtics obviously and the Kings ( loved that Vlade/Webb/Cristie/Bibby/Peja Era .. still a fan today ) and with League Pass I watch both of them play about 60 or so times a year ( celtics at 7, Kings at 10 .. I dont sleep ). It kind of fun having a powerhouse team ( celtics now, kings in the past ) and a rebuild team ( Kings now, Celtics in the past ) .. nice change of pace from message board to message board.

Baseball is super boring to me unless the Sox are on .. I watch some portion of the sox every night and I love them, but I cant sit there and watch another baseball team play.

Hockey is a little different. Im a big time bruins fan, and I think hockey is entertaining no matter who is playing, but the games arent on TV ( out of market, that is ) so Im forced to watch just the B's because I dont find the hockey league pass worth it.
