Is anyone else considering picking up Vick through the waiver wire?

I guess my question is: who do you see as the starting QB of the Eagles come Week 3? Garcia or Vick?

McNabb.

The Eagles are being Belichick like by not ruling out McNabb‎. I think he's out for sure.

He's a warrior. I think he'll be out there for Week 3 vs. KC.

This Sunday vs. NO? Not so sure. He'll probably make a go of it this week in practice, but I don't think he'll be able to do it.

Is Michael-Mike Vick really your best option in his very first game back?  I'd be inclined to pick him up if you've got a roster spot, but I'd like to see how he looks before giving him a start.  I think it's likely, too, that if McNabb can't go they may well start Garcia, he's at least been in SOMEONE's camp all summer and he knows and has had success in that system.  I doubt they're going to push Vick back onto the field too quickly.

Unless you are in a league that starts two QBs there is no reason to pick up Michael Vick at this point. There should be several available backups who are a safer pick, and are likely to play more over the course of the year.

Cutler/Shaun Hill/David Garrad/Orton/Collins/Quinn/Pennington/etc. are all likely starters for the rest of the year and will probably score more than Vick. A few of them should be available.

Now if you have extra roster space and want to take a flier on him go ahead, but I don't think he's worth it.

Actually, I can think of one reason to draft Vick: WR production at the QB spot. If he's listed as a QB, and he somehow becomes a receiving/rushing threat in that Philly offense, he might conceivably outproduce average starting QBs.

But, as Fafnir said, he's basically a flier pick.

I don't see that happening. He wasn't a great producer at the QB when he was the center piece of Atlanta's offense in his prime. (He was top 10 but never much higher)

So why would he suddenly have huge value now? He might have a crazy game or two, but you can't predict those.

I wouldn't go near an Eagles QB right now in fantasy unless you're in dire straits which I doubt since we're only one week in.

(Obviously, McNabb is a good guy to have in there when he comes back but I won't think of starting, nevermind, picking up another Eagles QB unless the available talent is thin in your league)

Update: Hank Baskett dropped, Kendra files for divorce and Vick is added to the roster.  ;)
