Why are some fans here asking for players like Gerald Green or Rodney Carney. We already have a young prospect in Bill Walker, and adding another project would accomplish nothing, we need someone that can contribute NOW or else we would just stick with Bill Walker and Jr Giddens.

Too many fans just look at some youtube vids and see that they are good dunkers and equate that to them being good basketball players. They will always call them underrated and thhat they just need one opportunity and ignore the fact that they have had many opportunities. Carney and Green are veery athletic and can shoot the 3, but they don't know how to play the game of basketball, and it seems like they will never learn. ( this is  directed more towards Gerald Green than Carney). Please stop trying to say Gerald Green or Rodney Carney is the answer at the backup sf, we already have a better player in Bill Walker.

lol well im new here and I  just thought I saw one too many Gerald Green threads. Well even one person wanting him is too much. Also just do a youtube search for Carney and you will see some of his highlight mixes.

You are not incorrect Jayk.  There is an infatuation with Gerald Green that lingers from his days in Green.  I don´t hate on Gerald, in fact I appreciate that he was part of the trade that brought us Kevin Garnett, but I certainly am more realistic about what he´s accomplished and really has to offer (which isn´t much.)

There are SIX threads on Gerald in just the last month.  SIX!!!!  And he is discussed in at least a few others that focus on our SF back-up.  It´s pretty crazy.  Here´s your first TP.

There has been a long standing debate between multiple parties on here.

Kinda like "There are two kinda of people...people who want to sign/keep player X, and people who don't!"

Player X has been Leon Powe, Antoine Walker, Gerald Green, Ray Allen, Rajon Rondo...etc...

Its just the way of a basketball forum in the offseason.

"You've gotta respect a 15-percent 3-point shooter. A guy
like that is always lethal." - Evan 'The God' Turner

  • Let them hate, as long as they fear
The enfatuation here, for lack of anything better to drag on and on and on, has always been to bring back Antoine, everytime we need to bring some bench hero to save the day. The "enfatuators" apparently want to change their tune somewhat and now have targeted Geralrd as our bench Savior. So its nothing more than picking your poison between Gerald or Toine. Who do you rather have in your "wish list?".
And someday in the midst of time,
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine

I prefer a nice mix, but we don't have any solid reserve guys except for House and now Rasheed.
Philly:

Anderson Varejao    Tiago Splitter    Matt Bonner
David West    Kenyon Martin    Brad Miller
Andre Iguodala    Josh Childress    Marquis Daniels
Dwyane Wade    Leandro Barbosa
Kirk Hinrich    Toney Douglas   + the legendary Kevin McHale
