The reason I hope we sign Baby Davis is because I have great concern that at least one of the Big big 3 (KG, Perk and Sheed) is going to battle injury this coming season, quite possibly in the play-offs. Hey, let's be real. KG last year, and Perk the year before.  And KG and Sheed are in the mid 30's, where little tweaks take longer to heal.  If one of those guys, heaven forbid, went down with a season ending injury, I think we still have a legit shot to go all the way with BBD stepping in. He proved without doubt he was capable of starting and producing for this team.  Obvioulsy it all comes down to $$, but let us not fall into the the false trap that we don't "need" Baby. We do.

I'd like to resign him for depth, but I don't think we can ask the C's to pay too much for the fourth big man on the team.

I hoping that since it is taking so long for him to get any offers that he'll end up signing a reasonable two or three year deal. Then matching will make sense, but paying 4+ million a year isn't something I'd do.

I still think he will be back and be the 4th big man.

Of course I'd like him for a 4th big man but I don't want to overpay him. We know he can produce as seen in the playoffs, so I would like him back for the right price.

IMHO, if any of our core players goes down we are not winning the title.  I hate to say it, but that was evident last year, and both Cleveland and Orlando are better this year with the off season changes they made.  Same goes for the other elite teams like SA, ORL, CLE, and LAL.  To be honest I would rather have a guy like Kleiza than BBD.  He's just as tall (not as wide) can score and plays defense as well as BBD.  Also, rebounds just as well.

The following rotation of players needs to be healthy and ready for the playoffs for us to have a legitimate chance of winning the 18th banner...

1) Rondo
2) KG
3) Pierce
4) Allen
5) Perk
6) Sheed
7) House
8) Backup 2/3 for Pierce (Hopefully, Barnes or Kleiza)

I'd like BBD back too.  If Sheed or Garnett get hurt or just need time off, BBD can step in and start a few games.
