With Sheed in the fold, the possibility looms that we could match and resign Baby. That gives us an impressive depth off the bench, but is that really what we want? We clearly need the depth in terms of numbers, but I dont see enough minutes for all four of Perk, KG, Sheed and Baby.

If we resign Baby and it suddenly doesnt work out in the locker room, do we make a trade? Who? Perk for ?? or what? Just my imagination, but I dont think Baby will be satisfied with 10-15mpg now and Sheed clearly will not.

I like all that depth.  I think it will be incredibly useful especially if we face injuries.  And with four capable big men, it reduces the stress and chance of injury to all four by sharing the load.  I don't see a problem here.

Please don't trade Perk.

We should really really seal up a defensive 3 and a pg before we even think of signing BBD.  Remember how gassed Pierce was in the playoffs last year, with virtually no one behind him?  Maybe in his prime this would be ok, but we have a team of vets and should get concenctrate on legs to relieve them first and foremost.

Agreed.  Back up 3 would be my biggest goal at the moment if I were management.

And if we went into the season with only the 3 big men we currently have (Perk, Garnett, Sheed) people would be saying were too thin.  It's way too early to be predicting that adding a fourth will cause problems because there aren't minutes.  Lets lock up the rest of the guys we need to and see how it all plays out before we start thinking about trading guys away to make room.

Plus of all the big guys we might want to trade, Perk by far has the best contract of them all considering what we get out of his production.  He's the last one I'd want to get rid of.

a rotation of Garnett, Perk, Sheed , Moore or BBD and Swift is the best in the league even garbage time talking and that will come for cheap one way or another.

Thats what im sayin, run Rondo into the ground if anyone, hes so young and athletic, i expect 40 mpg outta him this year.  PP and Ray Ray need backing desperately, get a nice 3 guard, we'll play great small ball with whoever it is at the 3, and great big ball with them at the 2 or 3 and pierce at the 2 or 3.

Perk is the last one I would want to get rid off...after Pierce, KG, Ray and Rondo. He has the most trade market value to get more quality parts though IMO. This is a business first and foremost, Danny will also see it this way I am afraid.

OTOH, Scal would be the fourth big currently under contract after Perk, KG and Sheed. We definitely need to add a couple of bodies but who? Mikki Moore? Chris Mihm just got released by Memphis. It doesnt look like Sweetney is going to lose enough weight to be taken seriously.

No need at all to worry about things that don't matter: minutes, touches, ppg, etc...

Edgar, do you really think Swift is going to make our team? I havent seen anything that would convince me of that yet. I think we sign a FA minimum contract guy and still do better than him.
