For a second round pick if he went overseas we would still hold his rights correct?   Our roster is kind of full so maybe he should try Europe for a year.

Stupid me we are currently doing that with Erden so we can.

good point. (about erden, not the stupid part.  ;) )

maybe with 2 or 3 years in europe and a celtic team having to play in wheel chairs there may be room for hudson.

too bad though. i was really pulling for the kid.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Well, Erden was already under contract.

Quote
Section 4. Negotiating Rights to Draft Rookies.
(a) A Team that drafts a player shall, during the period from the date of such NBA Draft (hereinafter, the “Initial Draft”) to the date of the next Draft (hereinafter, the “Subsequent Draft”), be the only Team with which such player may negotiate or sign a Player Contract, provided that, on or before the July 15 immediately following the Initial Draft (for a First Round Pick), or in the two (2) weeks before the September 5 immediately following the Initial Draft (for a Second Round Pick), such Team has made a Required Tender to such player. If a Team has made a Required Tender to such a player and the player has not signed a Player Contract within the period between the Initial Draft and the Subsequent Draft, the Team that drafted the player shall lose its exclusive right to negotiate with the player and the player will then be eligible for selection in the Subsequent Draft.

Unless Hudson signs a contract in Europe before September 5, we need to make a Required Tender to keep his rights. I'm pretty sure Hudson accepts any tender we make and we are stuck with him.

What did Bill Parcells always say?  "Can't make the squad from the training room"?  Too bad for the kid, but at pick #58, that's about as long a long shot as you get.

I missed the game yesterday and was bummed to hear this when I woke up today.  I was really rooting for Lester to make the squad. Hopefully they'll give him another chance.

If Ainge doesn't offer him a contract, he's Satan reborn.

Ouch Hudson broke his finger.  That's a real tough break.  I don't see how there's any way the Celtics can keep him unless he plays overseas or something.  Now the C's backup PG situation is even worse, no Marbury, no Hudson.  House as PG, are you kidding me?  Pruitt better step up big time in summer league or his arse is grass.
