Adrien had a 7'2" wingspan - same as Blair, longer than Hill or Mullens - and an 8'11.5" standing reach - longer than Blair, Griffin and Hansbrough.

He pulled down 10 rebounds per game next to a 7'3" center, and shot 50% from the floor.

This guy could definately come in and contribute as a rebounding bruiser, a la Maxiell and Smith. I would rather pay him $650k to be our fifth big than spend $4-$5 million a year on Big Baby.

Jeff Pendergragh was picked with the first pick of the second round and then he got traded to Portland.

Yep. People simply dismiss him because of his height, without understanding he ranked among the top 5-10 players at the combine in terms of his wingspan. Played at an elite NCAA program, and likes to play physical.

If he's doing his job, Ainge should have called him already to extend him an invite to the Summer League.

we don't need another short pf. i don't care of how hard he works or how long his wingspan is, no thank you

Its time the celtics try to get someone who works hard and meets the physical requirements for a backup pf/c position

i want 6'10 plus with 7'2 + wingspan

Why is the distance from the floor to where a player's head ends more important than the distance from the floor to where a players outstretched hands end?

Most players do not rebound with their heads.

Probably because one of the main aspects of playing defense is your body, and the taller you are, the more your body should bother.

in addition for the positions of pf and above think about a guy who is shorter but has long arms compared to someone who is taller and not as long arms. Which one can raise it faster from waist to top of their head?

The quicker you can get to the top point the faster you can tip in the ball, you can get ready to disrupt a player driving in and even shooting has a factor

Jeff Adrien also aint no charles barkley, millisap and has low level of quickness and mediocre athlecism

Stick with powe/bbd and we need to focus on a real backup c/pf
