I just heard that the Raps and Nets are in talks discussing a deal that revolves around Keyon Dooling going to the Raps in exchange for Kris Humphries with other players/picks potentially being involved as well.

With that being said I'm curious to know if Keeyon Dooling would be attractive and budget friendly?

Thoughts?

Well, your trade idea unfortunately doesn't work, since ESPN has the wrong contract information in there for Moore (he was signed for the vet minimum to the C's after being bought out of that larger deal).

But to answer the bigger question, I think Dooling would be an excellent pickup.  His contract is only guaranteed for 1 year, and is very palatable, and he would be a very nice backup PG.  He can defend, he can shoot, and he can pass, plus he has excellent size.  Pretty much perfect for what the C's need as the backup PG.

The question is whether the C's have anything the Nets want.

Thanks for hammering out the mistake ESPN made regarding Mikki's contract...i knew something was fishy. I don't really know why I posted the trade machine link at all lol.

I obviously totally agree with you in that Doolying would be perfect for us.

Do we have anything the Nets want? Well, wasn't Scal a fan favorite in Jersey? I wouldn't want to give Scal up at all so that's not an option but if they're interested in a guy like Kris Humphires then certainly they can be labelled as getting desperate for backup guys for their frontcourt.

Scal, et al for Dooling.  I'd almost feel guilty.   ;)

Got a link? Just curious where this is coming from, and what the context for the trade talks are.

I love Keyon Dooling, though I think it's unlikely we'd get him.

He can do exactly what we'd need him to: defend well, pass, hit 3's, etc.

FWIW, a three-way deal sending Scal to TOR, Humphries to NJ, and Dooling to BOS works according to the TM.

The trade could work this way, and it would subtract TA and add a possible addition to the big man rotation (Sean Williams which NJ is trying to get rid of) Toronto does it because it saves some money.

hmm if we could get williams + dooling somehow I'd be cool with that.  At worst Williams is another project that doesn't pan out (ideally we'd get rid of one of ours as a part of the trade) and at best he becomes a decent rotation guy with height, length, and blocking ability.
