I would dunk every time I got close to the basket. I can't stand watching these guys miss bunnies when they could dunk. They should be required to spend just one day in my 5'7", overwieght frame. They would never tire of the slam dunk in order to look pretty!

  • Doc could learn a thing or two from Norman Dale
I'd learn to play in the post, would focus on defense, and would learn proper fundamentals.

I agree with much of it (KungPoweChicken I loved your response by the way agree with all of it)... One thing that hasn't been mentioned though would be to attach myself at the hip to those who have succeeded in the NBA in the past. No better place to be then Boston, for example, and I would pick the brains of Hondo, Russell, JoJo, Tommy, Couz, anyone who would speak to me. Same with any team that has any notable historical players who played the game the right way.
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."

My game is a carbon copy of Reggie Evans', only I am a foot shorter.

I guess if I was 6'9" I would play like Reggie.
"All I have to know is, he's my coach, and I follow his lead. He didn't have to say anything in here this week. We all knew what we had to do. He's a big part of our family, and we're like his extended family. And we did what good families do when one of their own is affected." - Teddy Bruschi

I would lead the league in flagrant fouls and injure Kobe, and Phil too

It's the year 2010...

KG's fouled out of the game, Titlemaster comes in to sub for the Big Ticket in the final possession. Celts are down by two.

Rondo looks for Pierce; he's fully covered, no chance there. Rondo dribbles, fails to penetrate, finds Titlemaster open... he bullets a pass. It's in Titlemaster's hands, he pivots; his back is towards the basket, Gasol knows that he's about to get Jabbar'ed, he motions for help, help arrives but too late, Pierce wiggles free and is now out on the perimeter. Titlemaster, now double teamed, forgoes the sky hook, shoots a pass at Pierce. Pierce for 3; it's good! The Celtics win the championship.

As a high school basketball player, this is still a possibility for me (although a faint one). However, I am NOT going to be 6'9. 6'1 at the most. Still, if I grew to be 6'9, I imagine I would model my game after Magic Johnson's and become a match-up nightmare in the post. I would learn the skyhook and a fade-away post J so I could shoot over any PG or SG who was guarding me, and if the other team switched a big man onto me, I would take them out on the perimeter and either blow by or take a Hedo-esque step back J.

As it is, I'm pretty quick and I have a pretty good vertical leap and a well-developed mid-range game, but I can't post anybody to save my life. I have good vision, too, but I need to get my strength up so I can throw longer passes with more accuracy.

I imagine that if I was 6'9 I would have a legitimate opportunity to play in the NBA, simply because the taller you are the less skilled you need to be to make it to the league. I would perfect my crossover (which is already my go-to move) and lift until I was big enough to post and strong enough to get 3's up late in the game without a problem. I would dedicate myself to basketball completely if I had that kind of height--as it stands though, I'm not a uniquely exceptionally athlete and I don't have the size to compensate, so my prospects are looking a little shaky.
Grab a few boards, keep the TO's under 14, close out on shooters and we'll win.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
The only thing I would add to this is that instead of signing a max contract, I'd sign one for 10million per, then capitalize on the rest with local endorsements. Girls would want me, guys would want to be me, and I would have a ridiculous nickname. And one tattoo, a celtic cross.
