We need a "shakes head sadly" emoticon.

Whatever would possess Danny to think that a low attention-span and intelligence player needs more minutes to be effective?

Smacks of "I'm not about to admit I was wrong."

It's over, Danny. You missed on Tony Allen. Twice. Now, get him out of town so we can spend that money on an intelligent basketball player.

This is absurd. Tony Allen is good with big minutes. There's nothing to dispute about this. Tony Allen was playing well before injuries hit again.

If you want to call out Danny for rolling the dice with injury prone players fine, but Tony Allen clearly has enough talent to be in an NBA rotation.
But just not as a 4-5 minute only role player on a smart championship team. Trade him Charlotte or Minnesota and start him and he'd be very productive playing 30 MPG.

I just hate his game and think bringing him but was idiotic and maybe the biggest surprise for me in all of Danny's off season moves.

Yeah, I agree. I understand Tony had that great stretch a couple seasons ago when he was putting up big numbers when he was one of the only things the team had going for it. But he's not going to get 30 minutes a night in Boston until the Big Three have been put out to pasture.

If he can't produce while being a supporting actor in the big show, maybe he ought to be the star in the off-Broadway production. I really hope Danny comes around on this during this coming offseason.

I also can't help but wonder if the same goes for Baby. Is he going to be able to go back to 15-20 minutes a night and be effective?

Danny's no fool. The owners just didn't want to spend more and he went with the flow.

I've always thought TA would be one of those players who is destined to be a 15 ppg scorer on a 28-54 team year after year.

I hope they ship him somewhere where he can achieve that...

- Danny said trading even the 58th pick and not picking in the draft was an option so that he could leave a roster spot open for a veteran.

nick, do I take it then that Ainge is saying he's not looking to buy a 1st rounder?

Not sure Lucky. Ordway asked about what the possibilities of the draft were and what was the thinking since they only had the 58th pick. Danny mentioned that if they didn't think there was anyone who could help that trading the pick to keep it open for a veteran would probably be the best route to take.

Now I guess that could also pertain to trying to get a first rounder but it sounded like Danny wants someone who can contribute now. If he can get a pick high enough to get someone that Danny feels is pro ball ready now, I guess he could do it but he really didn't expand on the matter and it was hard to get a read off his comments given a first round acquisition.

Thanks, nick. Guess we're going Euro again with our 2nd rounder this year.
