... late in the first quarter after a made C's basket, Turkoglu grabbed the ball and wasn't even close to out of bounds, and he inbounded the ball.  Ref was standing right there and didn't call it.  Anthony Johnson then proceeded to hit a 3.  Just wondered if anyone else caught this egregiously bad missed call.

No, I didn't notice, but it wouldn't surprise me at all.  The league is very lax about even looking for the violation on the inbounds pass, second only to lane violations at the free throw line.

Come on they gave us the 8-second violation with 32 seconds left when Turkoglu had half his foot over the line. I was surprised (and delighted) we got that call. Can't get 'em all.

I saw that he was feet from out of bounds I was screaming at my TV I know that call is almost never made but he was not even close why have the rule if you don't enforce it even when someone doesn't get close to going out of bounds.

If I remember correctly it was with just over 5 minutes left in the first quarter about 5:15 if anyone has TIVO they should take a look.

both feet and the ball have to be over half court for it not to be an 8 second call.  so that was a good call.

I didn't notice the Turkey-Glue play though.  I have noticed that Perk will often times come VERY close to stepping in bounds before getting rid of the ball.

Ya, I'm not really complaining about the overall officiating.  Didn't really mean to make this a whine thread, just thought it was really bizare since it was so blatant and ref was right there.  They used to call that back in the day (Robert Parish), because the C's used to get 3-4 fast break layups off of MADE baskets each game!  So, they needed to enforce it.

I'm guessing that the everything has to be past the line as well.  And even if it doesn't, it was still a close call and I don't think he made it to the line.

I looked at the clock and it took him 9 seconds to cross the line....that's just careless.  8 second violations are easy to call.  If the shot clock hits 16 and the ball isn't past the line, it's a violation.  The reason that this is never called is because it hardly ever happens.  8 seconds is a long time.  It seemed like Turkoglu was back there for an eternity and it was only 9 seconds.
