Last night when I read the ESPN game recap (always read that just to see how the media displays what really happened in the game) I found an interesting quote at the bottom of the recap in the "GAME NOTES" section. It has since been removed but it followed the quote he had on Danny AInge.

Here is what Stern said in regards to KG's Injury: "Its just a really sad situation. The statistics show that this type of injury will eventually happen. With a player that has so many miles as KG does, we just hope for the best. We've been in touch with him."

Now first and foremost this is not his EXACT quote. This is paraphrased from what I remember but I find it interesting that the quote was removed this quick and that the DA quote was left up there, because when i first read the quote, it made me sick because it sounded like he knew something that we didnt. I really feel KG is officially done for the year.

I'm more interested in how you got 18 TPs off 3 posts  :).  I don't think this quote means anything other than that KG's knees are basically wearing out in general, beyond any specific injury.  That's probably part of why his rehab has gone so poorly.

Yeah how did you get 18 TPs off of 3 posts? That's a great PER!

KG is done for the year. It's no big deal, and it'd be better for the team to just get over it and move on.

The team is over it.  they arent making comments about it or letting it affect them.  it isnt even really the media.  just desperate fans.

Then again, David Stern might know nothing.  The C's aren't required to tell him anything.  Furthermore, if the C's are telling the truth and are just praying for a miracle with rest, they wouldn't know anything about the injury to tell Stern.

I think this is over-analyzing the always PR savvy David Stern, who was probably just trying to sound neutral, but sensitive.

I am gonna make a dummy Celticsblog account and give myself 500 Tommy Point.

But seriously, why does that quote "make you sick?" It's a meaningless quote, the commissioner has to say something of substance, it doesn't mean he knows some inside secret about KG's injury.  He just can't come out and say "Do I look like a doctor? I don't know what's wrong with him!"

Another thing David Stern said last night that caught me off guard was that he called Paul Pierce probably the most underrated superstar in the NBA.

Probably the smartest thing Ive ever heard come out of that guys mouth.

I caught it too, wanted to mention it, but was too lazy to bother.

If he's done for the year, that is indeed a very big deal.  Maybe not in a sense that it needs/needn't be mentioned 50 times a day, but for the team's fortunes it definitely is.
