i blame don.

"wake has yet to give up a hit through 7" is just as bad as saying he's throwing a no hitter orsillo.  :D

I was following the game on GameCast and noticed the "unmentionable" and people start whispering around in class and next thing you know...

Oh well, the bullpen needed this one.

Too bad Wake couldn't pull off the no-no.  It seems like he's gone deep into games a few times before.  It would've been nice to see him do it this time.

  • TRANSFORMATION INTO CHAMPION COMPLETE!!!
Too bad about the no-no, but at least it's a win, something they need more than anything.

This is exactly why we don't do what some people suggest and part ways with Wake.  Sure, he gets shelled some games, but when he's on, he's nearly unhittable.  You can't get that for 4 million a year many other places.

A key complete game today.  Big outing for the pitching staff coming off a long night last night - and with Beckett and Dice-K out

Well the parting with Wake has nothing to do with what he can do in my opinion, it's just that people are ready to see what Clay Buccholz can do, especially after the spring training he put up.  Ultimately Wake Or Penny will be going to the bullpen once Smoltz is ready, so we'll see how that works.  Penny didn't look that sharp to me in his first start, they put a lot of balls in plays, defense saved him a lot, so should be interesting.
do it
