No, I am not talking about reality crap. I am talking about Real TV Shows that belong on TV.
When there are no Celtics games on, I encourage people to watch the following shows. Give them another try etc.
5. "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles": This show is on the verge of cancellation and that makes me sad and angry. This show is excellently filmed and the performances are tremendous. Any show that makes Brian Austin Green, (you know David Silver from Beverly Hills 90210), into a decent actor is an amazing show. Lena Headey, the chick from 300, makes a convincing Sarah Connor and Thomas Dekker does a pretty good job bringing out a young John Connor. Those aren't even the best parts of the show! Richard T. Jones is excellent as Agent James Ellison. And the immortal Garrett Dillahunt is the cream of the crop as Cromartie/John Henry. Summer Glau...nuff said.
The show isn't all action and destruction as one would expect from a title "Terminator". The show deals more with the deeper examination of the human condition and protecting those you love.
4. "Eli Stone": Probably my favorite Comedy/Drama (no that doesn't mean it's funnier than FoC or The Office, it just means it is my favorite).
This is a unique show that diverts from every other "Lawyer" or "Law and Order" show in the history of television. No other show out there deals with and incorporates "God", "the Dark Arts", and cheesy, but well done musical skits.
I am down that this show has already been given the axe by ABC, maybe some miracle will save this miraculous show.
3. "Mad Men": I never thought a show set in the 50's, 60's or 70's...."back in time" would grasp me as much as this show has. I never thought a show about marketing and advertising and the men and women behind these commercial methods wouldn't bore the heck out of me.
If you enjoy good story telling, unique characters, or "the past" this show is for you.
2. "Breaking Bad": After he discovers he has cancer, an ex-high school chemistry teacher decides to cook meth with a former student high school drop out in order to leave his family some sort of financial comfort.
The above alone should make anyone who enjoys captivating TV at least take a peak at an episode or two.
The superb Bryan Cranston (Dad from Malcolm in the Middle) and the very versatile Aaron Paul make for a very odd pair, but the duo work extreme magic together.
If you enjoy drugs/meth, hookers, sex, more drugs and blue meth, drug dealers and dark comedy...this show is for you.
1. "Friday Night Lights": Anyone who has followed this show knows that this show has been in danger of cancellation since it's first season. Anyone who has followed this show or follows TV should know by now that this show is breaking history by being shown on 2 different mediums of television (DirecTV & NBC).
A show that is being shown on two different channels (without being in syndication, mind you) is a pretty big deal.
I am proud and happy that this show has been renewed for 2 more seasons and will continue to be shown on two different mediums.
This show is more than just football, and actually football might be the least thing this show is about.
The two principle characters that make this show top notch are Coach Eric Taylor played by Kyle Chandler ("Early Edition") and wife Tami Taylor played by Connie Britton ("24", "Friday Night Lights: The Movie").
If you enjoy watching tremendous acting, great storylines, family values and football, this show is for you.
The way this show is filmed and the soundtrack and score used are incredible and always cohesive. Some of the football sequences are shot better than in the movies and captured better than some NFL games on CBS or Fox.
Please turnoff the new 90210 and Gossip Girl...turn on the "Friday Night Lights".
