DENVER -- Nets forward Sean Williams was arrested and charged with felony criminal mischief Monday after an altercation with a clerk at a cell phone store in a shopping mall 20 miles south of Denver.

The incident occurred at 2 p.m. Monday at the AT&T Mobility store inside the Park Meadows Mall. According to police, Williams had a verbal altercation with the clerk, and picked up a computer monitor and threw it. The monitor and other equipment was broken, causing damages estimated to be about $1,200 to $1,300.

This guy has always been a headcase. Second time he was arrested this month although this time it's more serious than just trespassing.

I remember more than a few wanting to draft him out of BC in 2007 and bemoaning that the Nets now had a dominant shot blocking big man for the next decade, when he got off to a quick start. Then he fell off the face of the earth and out of the Nets rotation.

Sometimes teams ignore the red flags from a player during college/high school and it works out. Most of the time though they end up like Sean Williams.

Shocker.  I'm not sure what the Nets were thinking giving this clown guaranteed money, but they've reaped what they sowed.

Not defending him for what he did, but the trespassing was a joke.  The coach, Al Skinner gave him tickets to the game not knowing he wasn't supposed to be there.  And given that the coach gave the kid tickets, he probably thought it was ok for him to go.

No excuse for what he did in this new incident though.

I bet we still havn't seen the last of the "trade for Sean Williams" threads.
He is an absolute head case.  A great athlete with no brain or basketball skills.

The guy is so [dang] talented its not even funny. Its too bad  he is a complete idiot though.

I remember at BC in the 2006 NCAA tournament with Criag Smith, Jared Dudley, Tyrese Rice and him. When they were playing Villanova in the Sweet 16 he was blocking 1/3 of the shots they were taking, be it a three or a layup. The kid can flat out fly.

Its unfortunate that some people just never grow up.

He recently had some d-league related trouble too.  I think he refused to play and flew back to NJ or something like that.

I'm surprised the Nets haven't let him go yet.  I think it may show that the Nets really think he can be awesome on the floor and are gonna try and keep him around as long as they can.

If it wasn't for all the discipline problems at BC, he would've been a top 5 pick in that draft 2 years ago.  It really is unfortunate that he can't seem to pull it together

I don't think so.  I don't think he would have gone any higher, even had he not been kicked off the team.  Williams doesn't have much of an offensive game, and he has very poor defensive fundamentals.  He blocks a lot of shots, but by doing so, he gets himself out of position.  That's one of the reasons why at BC, opponents scored more points when he was on the floor than when he was off.
