Everything - including fouling out - is absurdly funny when going up against this toothless bunch: “Odom hadn’t agreed with the five fouls he’d gotten earlier, although he has tried hard not to let the officiating get to him in recent weeks. When Odom went back into the game with 8:32 left, he smiled at courtside reporters, made like a left-handed batter getting one more pitch to hit and asked how long he thought he could last with his five fouls. Odom couldn’t believe referee Michael Smith called the foul, going to the bench before getting back up to ask Smith: ‘Are you sure it was me?’ Meanwhile, because the Lakers led by 19 points at the time, Odom’s teammates — especially Kobe Bryant — were cracking up at his plight. (Asked about it after the game, Bryant deadpanned: “I have no idea what you’re talking about.”) Odom kept protesting for a while, speaking half toward the referees and half toward Phil Jackson by saying: ‘That’s some (expletive). Every game, man!’ Odom being one with such a light heart, though, he quickly let it go and just enjoyed how his teammates were enjoying it. He also walked back to reporters and comically made like a baseball umpire, dramatically punching himself out.”

Can you imagine what KG would do to big Baby or any of our other players if he acted like that. Kobe is no leader, his idea of leading is yelling at his teammates and scowling at them ala Schillings assesment of him in the finals last year.

Fine be me.  It will make beating them in the finals again this year that much sweeter.

Odom's one to gripe - he draws as many cheap fouls as anyone in the game.  Heck, I saw him help save an L against Golden St a month or two ago by deliberately undercutting a red-hot Anthony Randolph on a clean rebound to draw an over-the-back foul in the 4th quarter.  Literally waited til the guy was up in the air then backed up 3 steps into him, flipping him to the floor and getting an undeserved foul.  That's not only cheap, it's dangerous.

But anytime I get mad at Lamar, I just remember that A. he's apparently a nice guy off the court, and B.  He's the biggest front-running crybaby I know on it, who'll wag his tongue at our guys during the first quarter of Game 4 but completely disappear during the 4th.  Guys like Odom are why it's hard for me to believe this incarnation of the Lakers will ever win a ring.

I dunno, I don't really have a problem with this at all, especially since it's a 19 point game.  If a player is gonna draw attention to himself, at least he can do it with a sense of humor and personality.  I prefer stuff like this much more than the constant chest-thumping, posturing tough-guy act you see night in and night out.

Phil Jackson get on the case of Thunder fans

Lakers coach Phil Jackson believes that fans in Oklahoma City still have some learning to do when it comes to the NBA game.

"They haven't quite figured out the NBA game, the length of it," Jackson said. "They get all fired up in the beginning, and it's a marathon. It's 48 minutes of basketball. It's not like college, where you can come out and get a 10-point lead or 15-point lead and you can win the game."

well...he's right from the few OK games ive caught. they really don't know when to support thier teram when they are up or down 10. they go quite.

Now, on the other hand, someone might want to tell him to look inward or show the lakers crowd at staples tapes of games at in LA vs games in boston, because as off and on as the OK is, at least they support thier team loudly unlike certain hollywood crowds

Like crownsy intimated, sounds to me like they had fun playing basketball.  I'm not hanging anyone for that.
