Thank the red in heaven, here's hoping he's alright tonight. But man, thats great news.

I was going to start a post saying Rondo needs to get his butt on the court tonight.  Never mind. ;D

This is absolutely the wrong move. There is no reason that we can't beat the Grizzlies without Rondo. He should rest his ankle and come back stronger. We don't need him going out there and tweaking it again and creating more issues.

We should also have PP and Ray play as little as possible in this game. Our Scrubs better be able to beat a 16 win team of nobodies.

The only way this is "absolutely the wrong move" is if Rondo isn't 100%, and since none of us are Rondo or Ed Lacerte, we can't make such a blanket statement.  And of course we should beat the Grizzlies with or without Rondo.  We also should've beaten the Clippers with Rondo, but it didn't happen.

It's real simple.  If Rondo is healthy, he should play.  If he's still hurt, he should sit.  The team we play shouldn't be a deciding factor in the situation.

Rondo should play about 20 minutes, but him running the offense at the beginning of the game will set up a lead, and it will allow Marbury to be playing against a second unit. this is good, i mean he played the whole game against Cleveland.

If you have ever had a severe ankle sprain you would know that they guy can't be 100% right now. It takes a couple weeks to completely be back. I have had more of them than I care to mention and each time I came back thinking I was mostly there and fine to play I would re-injure it.

Rondo also wears those stupid low top shoes which doesn't help his case. Hopefully he goes to a higher shoe to help prevent this in the future.

If he gets a good tape job (which I am sure he will, unless he wants Tommy to jump over the table and tackle him in warmups), the low top sneakers won't make much of a difference.

Generally, with a sprained ankle, once the swelling goes down, and you can put weight on it without being in too much pain, you are not a huge risk of reinjuring it, if it is taped up well.  Its really just a matter of playing through the pain at that point.

While they are not good, I've watched them all season, they certainly aren't a team of nobodies. Especially when compared to our bench.

how do you know it was a sever ankle sprain? the never said anything of the kind. they even said the next day that he could have gone the next night if it was absolutly needed, but they wanted to rest it.

you also can't play 20 more minutes on a sever ankle sprain, which he did that night. a severe ankle sprain means your coming back on crutches, ala big baby.

Celtic is right on. And do and eddy won't let him go if there's a chance he can hurt it.

If Rondo had a severe sprained ankle, then he definitely would not have come back against Cle, adrenaline or not.  The fact that he did come back leads me to believe the injury was NOT severe.  I see noting surprising from the fact that he will play tonight.

And please, we sure are not a slam dunk to beat any team without Rondo.

I hope you're right, however I distinctly remember playing in a game after severely spraining my ankle only to have it swell up terribly the next day and put me out for a couple weeks.

Although I think the big three might disagree that without Rondo they aren't a slam dunk to beat a 16 win team, and that PP and Ray on their own wouldn't be considered to be definite favorites.

Let's hope that it wasn't too terrible, and that if it was that wiser heads prevail and he sits until it is healed at least 95%. Just like the rest of the injury ward, we need him healthy for a playoff run, especially with it being less likely we will get home court throughout...

Rondo has proven himself that he is more important than any one of the big three; not a better player than any of the big 3, but he is more important to he success of this team.

Become Legendary.

We don't have a quality backup point guard. Besides when he's playing well he's probably the second best player on the team. Hopefully by playoff time Marbury can be that backup point.

He just isn't as consistent as the Big 3 right now because of his youth and struggles with outside shooting.
