Horry is a vet presence and does add range for his size BUT what does he add that scal doesn't have honestly. Scal still can defend, Horry's legs are gone just like sam i am (being blown by)
I know Scal has played very solid this year , but who would you rather have as an option off your bench in a clutch situation, Scal who everyone wanted gone last year, or Robert Horry a 7 time NBA Champion who has hit clutch shot after clutch shot throughout the years?
We could actually use both Scal and Horry it doesnt have to be one or the other
Scal can be used defensive assigments against more Perimeter orianted PF's we might face that Leon or Big Baby can't stay with
Horry can be used at end of the quarter offensive situations , if the team needs a offensive spark off the bench , and in clutch shot making possesions .
I just think he would really bolster the second unit .
New second Unit
PG: Rondo
SG: House
SF: TA or Scal
PF: Powe
C: Horry
I particularly like this 2nd unit because
1) you have spacing on the floor with House and Horry being three point speacialists
2) Leon Powe is freed up to work on the low post because Horry brings the other Big man away from the basket to guard him.
3) With two deadly 3 point shooters in House and Horry on the floor TA and Rondo will have all kinds of lanes to drive down and finish or drive and kick to House and Horry
He only needs to give us 5-10 Minutes a night in the Playoffs and hit some shots . We now have a free roster spot with Cassell gone , it just makes to much sense not to IMO...
