Yep, the Cavs and the Cs got outcoached.  The Lakers are a great team but small adjustments here and there would have helped against the Lakers.

1)TAllen and EHouse playing together is becoming counter productive.  I see it, you see it...so why can't Doc see it?

2)PP having to take his man off the drible 35ft from the basket in closing games situation can't be good.  Got to get him closer to the top of the key to be effective.  I see it, you see it....so why can't Doc see it?

3)Yep, Scal would have help defend LOdom.  Last season we were able to match going small with Posey at the 4.  This season, it's Scal's job but he wasn't available.  BBD was in instead.  Personally, I would have played PP at the 4, TA at the 3....I could be wrong, who knows.

4) As for the Cavs, JVG was practically begging MBrown to go small from middle of the 3rd quarter on, when it was obvious Lamar couldn' be stopped by your typical 4.

...anyways, just food for thought.

So doc outcoached phil in the finals then?

is it really possible to be outcoached in a pt loss where the players had 3-4 oppurtunities to win and just didnt execute?

Popovich obviously did outcoach doc yesterday, but hes also been getting ready for the celtics for 4 days, yet again we had the chance to win and didnt execute

I think both teams got out officiated. The Lakers and 3 zebras can beat anyone.

Doc absolutely outcoached Phil in the Finals. Take a look at Game 4, for example. Jackson never adjusted in the 3rd/early 4th to Boston going small during the comeback, and instead of making a move he sat there comatose for the second half. Also, after Detroit had great success with Lindsay Hunter pressuring the ball in the backcourt against anyone not Rondo, the Lakers never really attempted it against the Cs in the series. Maybe a little less presser snappy comebacks (Orel Roberts, Leon POW), a little more advance film work from Phil and it's a different series.

Doc's been playing House/TA and Powe/BBD at the same time a lot lately, and against LA it was evident that particular lineup wasn't really working. However, if the Lakers were anywhere near their average at the line it wouldn't have been too close. Blame the coaches, GM, players, refs, whoever, but the reasons for the game's outcome were much more complex then just "Doc got beat."
"Let me call him," Floyd said.

The man shook his head. "O.J. doesn't give out his cell," he said. "He'll call you."
