"I didn't pick myself for the All-Star Game or to be a starter," Garnett said. "In a situation where fans get to vote you in, you have a staff or you have a certain kind of way that things are done and it's out of your control, then it's just that. I'm not going to apologize for something people want to see."

Payton's opinion is what it is, too.

Garnett's contributions to this team go well beyond the numbers - sorry to those of you who think sabremetrics tells the entire basketball story - and he's deserving of the All-Star starting spot.

Coined the CelticsBlog term, "Euromistake."

Another example of no matter how crazy KG seems on the court, he is really a guy who "gets it". This is why this team continues to roll despite bumps in the road. It does not matter what knucklehead so-called commentators say about you or your teammates (see Ray's snub from the All Star Game).  I love KG and the effect he has on the inward looking attitude of our beloved C's.  The world's opinions be [dang]ed.  His attitude is, "We know who we are, and nothing anyone outside of us says matters a lick."

I love this team.

I'm starting to like GP less and less and less. Good on KG for sticking up for himself.

Its funny KG comes off sounding like a level headed vet doing whatever it takes to win.  Old friend Payton continues to say things that make me think of the mouth steven a smith; "i'll say something anything so people will notice ME"
imo gary payton has nothing to say and his comments bear to merit
