Okay...with all this bad talk about our bench not being productive i figured i'd create a thread based on last nights performance against the Knicks.

Bench #'s:
34 points
15 for 27 shooting
17 Rebounds
5 assists
3 steals
4 blocks

Not bad at all.  The bench made their first 10 shots last night.  I was also watching ESPN last night and Tim Legler said he thought our bench was deeper than last years.  This is coming from the ONLY ESPN analyst who predicted the C's would beat the Lakers last year. So, i tend to listen to what the man says!!!

Granted, it's the Knicks who play absolutely no defense and who run that D'Antoni run & gun offense.  But, i feel a little better today about the bench than i did 48 hours ago!

They are going to have games against teams they match up well against and games where the opposite are true. They are fairly young so they are going to have games where they look great and others where they just don't have it.

They are a good bench and will help win a lot of games but I think consistency will probably be a problem all year and it might have nothing more to do with the fact that there will just be some teams (ones with big athletic players and tough defenders) where they will have problems. That's okay though. They are still a work in progress and as Wide Load keeps saying, this is probably not the bench we will see playing come playoff time. Danny will probably make an addition or a change somewhere in time.

Good to know someone else knows thats true. Phoenix never had defense. It was shoot, score and run. When they played defense, pretty much let them score so we can score right after.
