I vote Lebron.
Once you are labeled 'the best' you want to stay up there, and you can't do it by loafing around.

Redz put it perfectly about Kobe's personality being forcefully contrived.  He sits there in silence when he's on the bench but as soon as a timeout is called and he knows the camera is going to be on him he smiles and puts his arm around his nearest teammate.  He does this so often that it is painfully obvious he's faking.  And he may be those most smug player in my lifetime.

There are some players and coaches that i like to hate and that are not in this list, such as Richard Jefferson, Rip Hamilton, Mike D'Antoni (when he had a bad quote on the C's a couple of years ago), Sasha Vujacic, Zaza Pachulia, Drew Gooden, Kenyon Martin, Rafer Alston, Stephon Marbury, Quentin Richardson, Zach Randolph, Brian Cardinal, Vince Carter, Devin Brown, Reggie Evans, Manu Ginobili, Gilbert Arenas... I guess it's just that i don't like them, nothing personal :P

Who put this list together anyway?

LAMAR ODOM !!!

what a dnk!  did you see his form tackle of ray in garbage minutes?  How about spiking the ball off PJ who was on the ground out of bounds?  eye poking, cheap shotting, I could actually get mad sitting here just thinking about him.  Cheap shot moves and arrogant = biggest Villain!

biggest laugh at opponent expense goes to Vujacic :-*
"You're skating on pretty thin ice around here, McGee!"
"Sounds like the ice's problem."

2 for the Show!
GO CELTS!

We've had Wilt, Kareem, Ralph Sampson, Bill Laimbeer, Dennis Rodman and the Rifleman in the past to name a few.  Who is the biggest villain we have today?  Have fun.

you left out Lloyd Free, Dawkins, Steve Mix, Tree Rollins, Mahorn, Barkley and of course Moses Malone to name a few. today's villians don't really hold a candle to some of these nasty characters that always brought upon themselves the wrath of Johnny.

but Iverson, Phil Jackson and one of those young Hawks may earn their stripes in time.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

When you change your name to
World B. Free, you're certainly
not a villain. You're a hero!
 ;)

I think that's what makes them all the more villainous... they aren't in your face bad.  There is a certain honesty to an out and out closelining of another player.  Or dirty shots that everyone knows you take.  It's worse to pike somebody in the eye and then give the "who, me?" look.

World B and ML Carr played together in college at a very small school in North Carolina, Guilford College and in fact they won the NAIA national championship together in 1973.

Penguin and Egghead are two good choices, but in my book this dude is the ultimate villain!
