also hurts him that he's a defensive oreinted PG. with the all star selection being a glorified popularaity contest thanks to fan voting, it doesn't matter if your a good defender if your not throwing down 30 point games and flashy dunks.

i hate the all star selection process. mabey shaq will make it again this year when he's only played in 5 games!

such a joke.

The fans don't vote for the reserves, only the starters. The coaches pick the benches.

I don't think Rajon is going to find himself on the All-Star team this year. I think he can be that kind of guy in the future, but let's not get ahead of ourselves just yet.

im aware of that, it steal 2-3 spots a year, in my estimation from up and coming kids who should make it that the fans vote in stupid choices as starters.

Didn't I read somewhere last year that teams are limited to 3 players in the All-Star team now or was that just that they were limited to three players on the All-Star ballot?

Thought I saw something like this somewhere but a quick Google search has turned up nothing for me.

Well, there are the all-stars who get picked in a popularity contest, and the ones who really help their teams win.  Rondo is of the latter variety.  He's very close to being an all-star in my book. Will he get voted onto the EC team?  Unlikely.  But who cares?

Its 3 to the starters ballot.  but you can have any amount of players voted in as reserves.

TP4U for the answer. In my middle age little things like that slip through the old memory sometimes.

I don't think so.
maybe next year if he keeps on improving like the the last one.
I doubt very much that 4 players of the same team can be selected.

2006 East All Star Game
Reserves
Chauncey Billups - Detroit
Richard Hamilton - Detroit
Rasheed Wallace - Detroit
Ben Wallace - Detroit

Coached by Flip Saunders - Detroit
