I feel our guard rotation is going to be solid this year. Obviously our starters--Rondo and Ray Allen -- are very sound.  The first two off the bench --House for Rondo and Tony Allen for Ray-- gives us a complementary set, with Eddie supplying the firepower outside, and Tony able to slash and create.

Here is where Doc has a trump card--Gabe Pruitt.  If either Tony or Eddie struggles (and of course they will from time to time), Doc can go to Plan B, Pruitt.  He is capable of replacing either guy, and filling in quite ably. If he comes in for Tony, Eddie moves to the 2 on offense, and Gabe runs the show, as he has proven quite capable in pre-season.

This is how Doc ended up running the team during the play-offs, with more success as we got deeper and deeper. If Sam came in and was on fire, he stayed in. If he was disrupting the offense, then he got pulled and House came in. I see a similar strategy for Doc during this regular season.

As for Sam, I really think he will be in street clothes much of the time, unless we get off to a slow start, and Doc wants to shake things up.

Teams are going to try to attack us at the Point when Rondo is on the bench.  Luckily for us there are a lot of bad defenses in the NBA.  When we do play the good ones that have the athletes to pressure us at the point, Pruitt needs to get minutes.

House will also get some minutes at the 2 and when the team goes small Allen will get minutes at the 3.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."
