What do you guys think?? On one hand he was a long time player here and has a legacy. In addition he is good friends with ortiz, lowell and other redsox players and lastly players have voted that he deserves some of the playoff money revenue.

On the other hand manny's ending with the redsox become a drama. Manny being pointed fingers that he played soft the last few years and lastly manny mainly cares about big money.

First and foremost mannys best bet for a long career and contract is to go back to the AL where after a year or two as an outfielder he can easily be a dangerous DH hitter for the rest of his career. Yankees have alot of cash coming off their books and could offer him 20 million easily for 5 or 6 years because he is a great hitter plus the steinbrenners hate the redsox that much. I get the feeling also that manny really enjoys warmer climate places and could sign with teams like los angeles angels and even the tampa bay rays.

Once again only makes sense manny comesback to the AL and will prob sign with a team who can give him a 5 to 6 year deal at about 20 million per year, good climate and has a chance to contend year in and year out.

I think that you pretty much covered it. I wouldn't hold it against him going to the highest bidder, though. My bet on Manny though is that he winds up with the Angels, and LAA cuts ties with Vlad and loses Teixeira. I don't think that his relationship with Ortiz/ RedSox will have any bearing on his descision as to where he signs this offseason, NY or not.

The Yankees aren't going to go after Manny.  The last thing they need is a corner outfielder.  This mourning Gammons said Cashman has no intrest in Manny.  Odds are he stays With the dodgers.  They need his bat, he's had great sucsess there, they can pay him, and he's a big time star there.

no, becuase if he ended up a yankee it'd be diferent. i thought damon as a real team player that had pride and wouldn't be bought out. manny is a mercenary, who kills for the highest bidder.

Manny doesnt care about his friends, his comfort or anything that doesnt involve money.  He would go play for any team in any league if they offered top dollar.  If it were a japanese league, he would go to Japan.  His friendships/loyalties etc mean nothing to him.

That being said, he isnt going to be on the Yank's next year because they arent going to waste the money.  They have seen first hand how good he can be, but also how destructive and how selfish he is.  They are going to be spending their cash on pitching, they are set on offense.
