since it is too small of a sample size to actually make any judgemnet about the team, I will say that my biggest concern is that Scal appears to actually regressed.

Isn't it kinda early to have concerns about this team after just one preseason game where only four starters played and none played more than 19 minutes and where players 9-14 on the team played an average of 14 minutes each?

You want to be concerned about something though after the first preseason game, be concerned that Perkins wasn't on the floor. This team could ill afford the loss of Kendrick Perkins for long periods of time. A healthy KP is something that concerns me.

I agree it's way too early to have legit concerns.  If I had to pick a concern it would be Perk's shoulder as well.  Speaking of injuries Ray and Paul both look more fresh than last preseason.  Remember it wasn't only Ray coming back from double ankle surgery Paul was also coming back from his own injury the previous year (Paul had an injury in the finals but as know it was minor).

my biggest concern is that without house, the 2nd team looked like it had no offense. very stagnant at the end of the game.

Become Legendary.

Lack of outside shooting on the second unit? We lost Posey who was hot and cold from the outside and had a difficult time finishing.

Pruitt can shoot, House can shoot, Tony can shoot from 15-18 feet, POB can shoot from 8-15 feet, BBD as well, and Powe can as well.  We have shooters.  They need time together to gel.  Once that happens, there's no worries there.  Plus, rarely will all of the big three be off the floor at the same time.

After one game the only concern I have is Scal.  He was dreadful last night.  This team will be better at the end of the season than last year's team, providing of course we don't suffer some injuries. We're way more athletic, and we have last year under our belt.

My only concern with Veal is that he is still a Celtic.
And someday in the midst of time,
When they ask you if you knew me
Remember that you were a friend of mine

...there is no such thing as a 2nd unit...the bench will be mixed in with starters...very occasionally the team will go "all bench" but in those situations it'll be effective or it will be replaced...

I really have no concerns with our team right now. If anything it's our depth at the center position... not really the talent level. My other concern is with the decisions management will be making. The only move I haven't liked from them this offseason is acquiring Sam Cassell. I hope they cut the right person or make the necessary trade to keep the best people in the roster (Darius Miles should stay).

While the lack of shooters is a problem for the second unit - we can hope that there will be no second unit. I am fearful that Doc will go to a 'second unit" strategy in the first 3/4 of the season. In the playoffs he got smart and went to a smaller rotation.

We have plenty of shooters in the starting lineup - we need to use piecemeal subsititions to keep shooters on the court. And we need to avoid using Veal as a second unit guy simply because he thinks he can shoot from the outside. Let's be honest Darius could probably hoist up similiar bricks if he felt like it..
