A Patty O'Bryant Question

Jordan looks very interesting. He had a couple of impressive showings in summer league. I'd be delighted if Boston had him. It was good to see he understood his limitations and still found ways to impact the game (defensively, boards, garbage baskets). Good prospect.

There sure is a lot of hating on poor ole Patrick O'Bryant.  I believe that he will show up, kick some ass and dominate at that spot.  Per 25 minutes of playing time, his numbers are comparable to Perk's and in some cases better.  I realize that he doesn't have nearly the amount of games under his belt as Perk and that he is still learning the system but he has the tools to do the job.  Also, he has been working all summer.

I don't think that Ainge would have signed him if there wasn't something about him.  Besides, with Perk's shoulder, he may just be the go to guy.

Think positive.  I think we are better this year than last.

I see Jordan as POB with a draft pick that better suits his value, therefore with less chances of being considered a bust. It's a long shot for any of those guys to become solid NBA players, but they're still on the run, so there's still hope.

Having both of them would be a mistake: fairly chance of none of them being able to contribute and it's practically impossible to develop 2 young backup centers at the same time.

Had we taken Jordan, he would be of little to no value for us as he would have spent this season and likley next in the D league where he belongs. I have no problem with this but we still would be short a bonafide backup Center beyond POB would we not?

I think we are very likely to see a player in JR Giddens that makes us forget about Jordan. We still will need to fing a veteran backup big for Perk if POB bombs out. Even if POB is fine we may still need another backup center.

I am getting worried about Perks wing until we see it in action.

Glad to see POB getting a better shake than earlier in the summer. I like the picks this summer and think they were carefully calibrated for the need to contribute immediately (with the exception of Walker, who may still surprise). The latest reports on Miles (100%)are encouraging, which has got to make you feel better about pairing  him with our undersized back up PF's. The idea of Miles playing some 4 in small ball lineups is also pretty cool. House/Cassell/Pruitt, TA/Giddens, Dmiles/Walker, Powe/Scal and POB/BBD. Don't think POB is going anywhere. If anything Pruitt, Powe/BBD seem more vulnerable (unless we are trading for another 7 footer).
