I just heard the news.
It's simply terrible.

Rest in peace, Richard
and thanks for the memories.

Bummer...PF's always been one of my favorites.  Not that David Gilmour & Roger Waters were going to get on stage together any time soon, but this puts a big final damper on any potential Floyd reunion.  (though I suppose people would still but tickets to go see Waters & Gilmour)
Yup

Sad news, indeed.

A big fan of the earlier Floyd albums like Meddle, WYWH, and Animals, where Wright's contributions can be most appreciated.

TP for the Live at Pompeii clip, Amager.

No I think everyone on the planet would list Pink Floyd in their top 5 bands. (If they have any taste at all that is)

It's really hard for me to pick a favorite album. I do love Animals. Live at Pompeii is great. But to go a little off the beaten path I'd have to say Atom Heart Mother ranks highly with me as well.

P.S. I know everyone has heard about the Wizard of Oz and Dark Side of the Moon thing, but you have to try it if you haven't it is amazing. It had to be done intentionally, no way it was coincidental.

I love Obscured by Clouds.  It's as close as you get to an upbeat Pink Floyd album.  I haven't listened to too much of the really early stuff except for the popular stuff on "Relics" etc...

But I love all Pink Floyd.  Even the post Waters stuff has its place.

I remember coming across a solo album of Wright's a few years ago.  It was very much like a toned down Dark Side of the Moon.  You'd here is voice as the lead singer and say, "Hey, that sounds like the voice that chimes in in the background of such and such a song."  Very distinct sound.
Yup

Spent many of nights in high school and college breaks driving around the backwoods of Central Mass. with my buddies listening to "Meddle" or "Animals" locked and loaded in the CD player.

Thanks for posting, because I had not heard and I'm a huge Floyd fan.  In fact, I was listening to DSOTM on my way into work this morning.

I was still hoping to see them cut one more album as a foursome before something like this happened.  My condolences to his family.  This is a big loss for Floyd fans everywhere.
