I said a while ago, it would'nt suprise me to see Perkins finally settle in at:

12-15 points
8-12 boards
2-3 blocks
+ intimidating presence and good team defense.

I think if he stays healthy, he's just starting to come into his own. Health is the key thing for him.

I think you may see the occasional game where he scores in that range, grabs those boards, blocks those shots, but I don't expect it consistently.  I really do think Perk is what he is.  You're essentially guessing his stats will double from last year, which was a career year, surrounded by 3 offensive weapons who set him up for easy buckets and let him focus on his strength defense, but I can't see that his numbers will jump that much, if he ever averages 10 ppg, I'd be surprised, I can see the 10 rpg though, especially with less backup options, but I think the big problem to look at is 3 fouls per game, which is a reason he may never reach 30 minutes per game....

I expect Perk to be a solid inside guy, never an allstar, always a workhorse, if he gets 20 double doubles during the year, its a solid year

...I've said this consistently...Perkins needs 4-5 more touches a game on the inside...he often gets one-on-one coverage in the post against a smaller player he can abuse, but the team doesn't feed him enough...

I think this season we'll see a lot more dynamic offensive attack from this team, including more post touches for Perk/Powe and more plays for Ray Allen...

IMO, Perkins is a 12-14ppg guy in his prime with 8-10 rebounds while playing 34-36 mpg...when that happens is dependant on the team, but Perkins has shown that he can be reliable in the post, he has started using his face-up jumper, and he is starting to manage his fouling...once he's a full-time player he'll look much more impressive statistically...

I agree about getting a couple more touches per game, especially in the regular season. He does a pretty good job with his back to the basket. It would help keep the defense honest.

Statistically, I think 10/8 or 9/9 at 32mpg is the ceiling for Perkins. He's not a numbers guy... and I think his health, size, speed, fouls, will prevent him from being a 36+ minutes a game guy.

While we are at it, if Perkins were a FA this or next summer, what would he be worth?

I'm thinking $40/5.

Perkins is pretty shady with his post game.  I am never confident the ball is going to go in when he does that post up hook shot...which is his only move... i dont understand why perkins should get any more touches and why the offense should ever go through perkins...we have the big 3 which means that  the other team can't double all 3 of them.  Perkins is good for defense and catching the ball underneath the hoop and dunking it after kg finds him down low.

Expect Perk to put up 10/12 with 2 blocks next year.

I'd like to see him play 25-29 min. a game.

I like Perk. I think he fits very well into this team. He plays solid D, man on man and Team, rebounds, outlet passes, etc. I'll even give ham a pass on bringing the ball down so it can be striped by guards, but for the of pete, I wish he would stop complaining on every call. It makes me crazy and when they show the replays, he wrong most of the time. Just play the game. I can tell you as a guy who did some refing, granted on a high school level, guys like that made me crazy. To be honest, the more they complained, the more I was likely to call something on them.

12-15 points, 8-12 boards and 2-3 blocks...when he finally settles in, has reached his peak.

By that one to me it means settling in could be by the time he's 26 to 27 and has another 8-10 years to play in the league...

So for me, watching this guy progress a little each year...

I could see him scratching 12, 8 and 2, which would be within the range I mention.

I think the main thing is him staying healthy.

I see the 12 points as 4 points on put backs, 4 points from the line and 4 points on his own. I think he can get there.

I have been wishing he'd take just a few jumpers a game either fromthe foul line elbow or the baseline so was happy to see him sink a few this year during the palyoffs.

I could be wrong cause I like the koolaid and I'm a major optimist but I think the littel offensive outbursts we saw this year we'll see more often next year.

Well, yeah, when the big 3 are in the game, the offense goes through them. Then Rondo.

However, sometimes the C's look like they are playing 4 on 5 when they have the ball. I'm just asking for Perk to get 2 more touches a game in the post. On average he'd probably only shoot it once, pass out once, just to keep his defender a little bit more honest.

I just want become consistent and reliable with his jumper. If he does that, he will get his stats.

Stats aside, can anyone honestly name 5 centers that truly outplayed Perk in every aspect of the game during head to head competition this year? Only Dwight Howard truly dominated Perk in head to head matchups this past year IMO. There were others that outscored him, but many of their points came while he was on the bench in foul trouble.

This may change if Andrew Bynum and Greg Oden are healthy this coming season, but Perk more than holds his own against the rest of the centers in this league. As he matures and gains more experience he will improve and I think that number will be far less. 8)

I've often wondered, (both because of Perks intangibles/ability, and because of his "elder statesman" status having been a starter for a while now) what caliber player it would take to supplant him in the starting lineup. There can't be more than a handful (maybe 5-7) centers that you'd absolutely want over perk. Some of those are questionable IMO.

From the perspective of this team right now, chemistry fitting in, all that; you'd obviously take Dwight Howard. Yao Ming, Chris Kaman, Andrew Bogut, Tyson Chandler, Marcus Camby, Samuel Dalembert should all be locks. Maybe Big Z. There could be some Shaq fans left. Bynum and Odom if they're health. So that's 11 possible centers I'd rather have.

I think expecting Perk to be a consistent double digit scorer is unrealistic. If he ends up in the 7-9 I would be surprised. dbl digit rebounds could happen tho. I don't see him getting over 2 blks a game unless he's playing atleast 35 mins.
