Is it it possible Tracy Mcgrady may end up in a Piston uniform? Maybe, but as of right now it's all speculation and no offer has been agreed upon. Although according to Stephan A Smith, Mcgrady likes being in Houston but wants to win, and has interest in the Pistons with respect for what Dumars is doing.

My guess: Billups, Prince, and Mcdyess for Mcgrady. (not sure if salaries match up)

Rodney Stuckey/Hunter
Richard Hamilton/Afflalo
Tracy Mcgrady/Possible FA
Jason Maxiell/Amir Johnson
Rasheed Wallace/Theo Ratliff, Samb

God he is overrated. He is a glorified jumpshooter. Remember how easily we shut him down?

I hope he does go there so we don't have to worry about Detroit anymore.

Imagine Joe Dumars made THAT trade? Billups, Prince, and McDyess for Tracy McGrady? wow, would detroit be looking for a new GM at the end of '09.

Dumars is not that Stupid.

If it does happen look for Detroit to be a low seed in the playoffs.

Mcgrady is the most overrated player in the NBA and probably so for the last 2 decades.

i think he'll be looking to move sheed and billups. ehh... there's really no good trade detroit can make at this point so this trade is okay. plus it brings them younger, as long as they don't give up too much. it also depends on his health though... i have yet to see tmac healthy.

Become Legendary.

  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I think any move like this will come down to how much Dumars can rely on his youth to fill the void is Amir johnson ready? Can maxiell be a starter? Is Stuckey or afflalo ready for 25 mins a night?

What about

Wallace, Hamilton for McGrady, Brooks?

Makes a lot more sense for Houston to me than it does for Detroit.

detroit gets the short end of the stick on this one.  they trade away their leader, their best man to man defender, and their only legit big for an oft-injured, chemistry killing, offensive iso-stagnatron?  is having a "marquee" name and a "superstar" worth that much to their franchise?

Can Houston be that high on Donte Greene? Billups-Yao would be rediculous, but I am not sure Detroit is ready to move Mr. Big Shot for Mr. First Round...

  • TRANSFORMATION INTO CHAMPION COMPLETE!!!
This would be a big mistake for Detroit, so I hope they do it. If they were smart they would be looking to deal Wallace, Billups isn't the problem.

I actually think they could do Billups and Tay straight up without Mcdyess involved. Here is the thing, I believe they want Rodney Stuckey inserted into the starting lineup as a point guard. Billups brings the most value, and if Detroit were to trade Rasheed, they would have to be trading for a big man. Since no team is going to trade their best young big man for Rasheed, their best bet is trading for a SF.

Possible SF's:
Josh Smith
Tracy Mcgrady
Carmelo Anthony

Those are the only three that I think Detroit could get and would help improve their team. Actually the odds of Denver trading Melo are slim to none. So Mcgrady is someone I think would actually fit into Detroits system quite well, and if he stays healthy, they could be even more dangerous. It's going to be a tough decision for Dumars, that team is still good, but I think they want their younger guys to get more playing time. Especially Stuckey, Maxiell, and Johnson.

Why is everyone trashing T-Mac?  He gets a lot of crap for not getting out of the first round, but if you look at his first round matchups, when was he supposed to win?  His team has always been the underdog, and he's averaged around 28 points per game in the playoffs.  What else can he do?  Remember, everyone said the same thing about Garnett, but once he joined a team capable of winning a championship, he won.  Granted, T-Mac's had injury problems and sometimes settles for jumpers too much, but when he's on, he's a bigger Kobe.
