How about taking a look at him as backup stiff... err Center.
He used to be a decent rebounder for a big. 
His production has slacked off a lot lately but he hasn't gotten starter minutes either.
He's listed as an unrestricted free agent.  Former team Dallas Mavericks.

only if he is willing to take the vet min, and someone else with more motivation, like francisco elson, is not also available and willing to take the vet min.....

The guy couldn't even get on the playoff roster of a team with Erick Dampier and undersized Brandon Bass as their centers.  Not surprisingly, the Mavs lost 4-1 to the Hornets.
