The celtics fan might have been boasting or something, I don't know so I guess no1 can really comment on that. But nonetheless what the lakers fans did was inexcusable. Hope the celtics fan's alrite.
Anything is possible!!!

At game 1, there were two Lakers fans sitting behind the seats my son and I have.  First, they were wearing Laker T shirts, which is fine.  And, they were boasting about how they spent $750 per ticket and flew in that day to see the game.  All of that is fine.  However, during the game they were beyond obnoxious while they were getting drunk.  When the Lakers pulled ahead in that game they got even worse.  I turned to my son and said I did not know why they were acting like that because someone was going to beat the crap out of them.  As the C's pulled ahead in the second half, they all of a sudden quieted down and with about a minute to go in the game, they left their seats to chants of "get out, get out."

My question is why are people so stupid to go to a game in the opposing team's arena and act like complete ****s?  They are just asking for trouble.  Not condoning what happened in this video, but I can see how it could happen.

Not to give them an excuse to act like ****s, but I have to give credit to anyone that flies over to watch their team play.  That's a lot of loot  for a game.  This might get me killed, but I actually told a good friend of mine that if I got tickets to a game (I'm gonna try to stay on line if at all possible for game 6 or 7-- hopefully I wont have to :) ) that if I did get tickets, he'd be the first one in mind and hes a Lakers fan.  The reason is that respect his fanhood and we have been going back and forth all season, and he had said before the season that if there was a Lakers-Celtics finals, he would drop everything and come to Boston for the game.  I think its one thing having a bandwagon fan that doesnt know anything and comes into our house just because he likes the colors.  Also, they have to expect trash thrown at him/her and live with it.  Also, my brother was in LA hanging with this friend and he was wearing a Celtics jersey when this huge cop came straight up to him and said, "See you in the finals." and left.  I thought that was pretty funny.

Another quick story- I was at the game where the Celtics made the biggest comeback in playoff history and near us were some Nets fans.  At first, they were all excited and what not.  So as the game progressed, and the come back was real, as everyone was jumping up and down celebrating, they were the only ones sitting in agony.  That was a beautiful sight for me.  Also, to going along with fanhood, the guys actually left saying how the Celtics deserved the win.

Anyway, the whole point is that there shouldnt be fighting.  Fighting is excessive.  However, if ur gonna go to the enemy territory, all is fair game.  Expect chants of hatred, popcorn, beer/soda thrown at you, language thrown at you that would make Mother Teresa cry... but you gotta man up and take it.
Baby Jesus!

my one question regarding this incident...where in the heck were the ushers and police while these two fights were going on?!?!?! not a single person stepped in to help those guys - that's sad. those faker fans will have more to be upset about by thursday when we finish sweeping them.

being from ohio, i'm a diehard ohio state fan. in the 2005 football season, i went to the game at michigan. i'd always thought how cool it'd be to go to a game in "the quiet house" and watch my boys kick their a$$. AND to wear a "F michigan shirt" to the game.

little did i know, some dreams really do come true. no joke, my buddy and i got tickets in the middle of the michigan student section. he had a buckeye jersey on, and i had a shirt that said "F Michigan" on the front and "Ann Arbor is a Who#&" on the back. as expected, people were yelling stuff at me all day long. i'm a pretty big guy though, and on top of that, michigan fans are known to be pansies, so i really wasn't scared.

so long story, but we played horribly in the 3rd quarter and michigan took a 21-12 lead with 7 minutes left in the game. some pansy bandwagon michigan fan started screaming in my ear how happy he was that michigan was leading ohio state by two scores in the 4th quarter of his senior year. i calmly turned around and guaranteed we'd find a way to win the game, and that he'd be miserable in a few minutes.

sure enough, the tables turned, and troy smith led one of the best comebacks in buckeye history. antonio pittman capped it off by trucking prescott burgess at the goal line, and the place was DEAD QUIET. right as the game ended, one of my buddies called my cell. i answered the phone, turned around, put my phone up in the air, and yelled out "do you hear that? that's the sound of 110,000 michigan fans dead quiet!" priceless...no one said a word.

moral of the story...cheering on your team in enemy territory in a rivalry game can be one of the coolest things ever. and for my fellow buckeye fans out there...moral number 2 - F MICHIGAN :)
