I'm down with JVG. He and TT have been successful together everywhere they've gone.

I'm not giving up on this season yet though. I fully expect the C's to at least get to the finals.

I'm afraid we can't keep this winning-at-home, losing-on-the-road thing up.  We will have to break one of these streaks at some point.  I'm hopeful but I have a bad feelin coming into the next game at home.  The Cavs have made their adjustments.  We still have to make ours.

In any case, Doc Rivers isn't going anywhere next season.  If we reach the ECF, it's 100% assured.  If we lose to the Cavs, it will mostly be put on GPA and team maturity--that they haven't been together long enough and our starting PG while very talented is still young and inexperienced.

He's proven every year he's been in the league how bad he sucks as a coach.
We can't keep making excuses for him to stick around. He ain't changing overnight.
We need a competent coach immediately.

How many times has Belichick traded away a player in his division, knowing full well all their deficiencies,  Bledsoe, Milloy, etc.  How on earth is Wally teeing off on us every game.  It's called coaching adjustments, and game planning Doc.  It just feels like Doc coaches more reactively instead of proactively.

Tom Thibodeau is the best choice at this point.  I'm not high on Avery Johnson. He sscreams too much in that high pitched voice.

If Thibodeau leaves for a head coaching job, I'd like to see David Blatt or one of the other fine coaches in Europe get consideration.

But dumping Rivers has to be the first priority.

jeff van gundy would be a good appointment. or thibodeau.

avery i think would utilise kg offensively a lot better than doc has, but i'm not sure how he could motivate a team with the voice he has and following 3 straight playoff collapses i'm not sure how he could motivate himself.

would have loved rick carlisle, but too late now.

i have been supporting doc for a while now, and i will continue to do so. but, it's getting much harder and if there's no championship at the end of this season then there's no way i support doc and want him here next year.

Seriously, lets wait until the Celtics post season ends (hopefully ending with a win)before we start worrying about changes this team should and could make.

LOL This statement is funny in so many ways. (Considering your sig and past comments on the matter)

I agree though, I mean honestly to me, I'd fire him even if we won the title. It wouldn't go over well but I would.

Dear Doc,

I have stood by you all year. To get a team of 12 guys that havent played together and guide them to an NBA best record was amazing. Now for the bad news:

1) Was that lineup to start the fourth quarter designed to give me a stroke? Big Baby, Posey, PJ, Cassell and Pierce? What does this lineup accomplish exactly? No defense, no offense and I dont ever remember seeing this combo playing together during the entire season. I was shocked to see Lebron zip past BBD's help defense, shocked.
2) If Cassell is not hitting his shots he is absolutey useless, his shot selection has the ability to grind this team to a halt, rondo was 7-14, cassell was 0-5 and eddie house is well on house arrest evidently.
3) Ray Allen is not playing well, the offense does not need to focus on getting ray involved, if he is unable to get quality shots up against Wally, then Ray needs to work harder.
4) KG started 6-8 and finished with 13 shots, how does this happen? When the offense starts to stagnate you need to call a timeout and make sure that EVERY play is run through KG in the low post, period.
5) YOU need to step up and get a win for this team on the road, stop blaming the players, championship coaches have the ability to steal games for THEIR teams too, its not all on the players.

Sincerely,
P$

You have seen the light!

You get a Tommy Point for your screen name too.

I have a Brett Szabo card. He was the starting center on the 15 win team?

To further elaborate on your post though I agree with you on all your points.
Which is why I feel like even if the Celtics win the title it would serve the team better to still find another coach. If they win this year it will be  because they outplayed and beat thier own coach as much as outplaying the opponents.

Because of Doc's inability to coach these skilled and talented greats will be forced to win a title based entirely on Luck rather than the dominance they could do it with.

Both KG and PP pushed back against Doc's finger-pointing last night.  Will Doc stuff it from here on out--or will there be more to come?  Does it reflect the players blaming Doc more broadly?  If Cleveland prevails will the players be open to a coaching change?

Is this post-season cap to the C's season eerily reminiscent of the Pats' Superbowl collapse?  Stay tuned as the roundball turns...

I guess this is off the subject, but what is a coach supposed to do when his players are not listening to what he's telling them? You could clearly hear Doc telling them to take the ball to the hole as the Cav's were over the limit, yet they keeped shooting junpers. You could hear him tell them not to who "hero" shots, yet Pierce continues to chuck up ill advised 3's. I'm just wondering, with the players now making all the money if it's not becoming next to impossible to coach these guys.

That being said, I do have to agree that his line up to start the 4th quarter was beyond weird. Not a very good time to sit Garnett, Allen and Rondo. Hell, suck it up, win this game and they could rest in game 5, but that's a whole nother story.
