I do not think this gets talked about enough, the 2022 NBA draft, and Orlando selecting Paolo Banchero with the first pick over Chet Holmgren.

Sliding doors moment for who? You think Orlando would be better off with Holmgren as their primary option instead of Banchero? Or you mean OKC would have preferred to have Paolo as a duo with SGA over Chet?
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

Jwill and Duren would go a lot higher in a redraft (and they went 12 and 13 so not even that egregious) but other than that 2022 is one of the few drafts that was mostly correct in the top 10.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

For both OKC & Orlando

Think of the fit if you swap both guys.

Suggs
Bane
Wagner
Holmgren
Carter Jr

That team has much better balance and defensive versatility.

Now imagine putting Banchero on OKC. You could say he would have cost them the title last season, as he would ruin their identity. OKC lived off being an impossible defensive wall & having three point shooting. Banchero would be a hole in their defence (especially being unable to switch), and he cannot consistently shoot either.
