I think he's pushing to make an NBA team.  Last year, I felt like he should have gotten it over Haliburton.  It's going to be tough this year, but he has a chance with all the injuries.

Who are the candidates for the All-NBA teams?

My picks:

First Team
Jokic
Giannis
Tatum
SGA
Mitchell

Second Team
KAT
Mobley
Lebron
Edwards
Brunson

Third Team
Jaren Jackson
Durant
Jaylen Green
Steph
Cade

I'm pretty comfortable with my first two teams, but not sure on the third team.  The Sun's record may count against KD and Garland has a shot of making it over Steph.  JB could make it over Green, but I think they gave OKC two players.  And Sabonis and Sengun have a shot as well.

Who are the candidates for the All-NBA teams?

Centers

First Team = Jokic
Second Team = Towns
Third Team = D Sabonis

Next level down = Gobert, Sengun, Bam

Forwards

First Team = Tatum, Giannis
Second Team = LeBron,
Third Team =

Options = E Mobley, Jaren Jackson, Jaylen Brown, Jalen Williams, Franz Wagner

Guards

First Team = SGA, D Mitchell
Second Team = J Brunson, Steph
Third Team = Cade Cunningham, Haliburton

Options = Lillard, Trae, Harden

Conclusion

Looks like there is more of an opening at forward than guard.

I am inclined to go with E Mobley & JJJ over Jaylen. I don't think Jaylen has had a great season. Jaylen vs J-Dub for the final forward slot. Buyers choice.

The forward slots are a bit weak. Missing quite a few guys with injuries. Luka, Durant, AD, Banchero, J Butler, Zion. PG13 has dropped off. Kawhi has dropped off. Both have probably missed too many games as well.

Edit: I forgot Anthony Edwards. I have him off the three teams but he'd be my first alternate.

Edit: I didn't realize Durant had played enough games to make it. I figured he had missed too many. I was wrong. Good likelihood he'll be eligible. Durant will take one of those forward slots.

Luka?s got to be on one of those teams too I?d think.  He?d get it over Green by recognition alone.  Not saying whether not he?s deserving because allnof the missed time?but I?d be willing to wager he makes one of the top 3 teams.
Yup

Luka has only played 34 games. LAL has 19 left.  He is not going to make it.  He would be expected to be first team otherwise.  I think Mitchell deserves a first team slot.  The other four first team picks are obvious.

As to Mobley, he is having a great year.  But I wonder who would trade Brown for Mobley right now, straight up.  It is a tough call in my mind.

Right.  Forgot they actually set a minimum didn?t they.  Is it 55 games?

Otherwise I?m sure he?d still get the votes.
Yup

65 - quite a few are ineligible. Durant is close to the limit

Regarding Jaylen Brown, how does a bone bruise not improve over time ?

Any sort of sprained or torn soft tissue I would understand taking longer or not improving until some type of surgery, but just a bruised bone, I would think the pain would subside. It may have helped if Brown had not chased the games played requirement for All-NBA, which I consider selfish on his part. He has more seasons to attain that recognition and he sure doesn't need the bonus money. He should have been sitting and resting the knee these past weeks. The team and a second title are what is important, not more accolades for an all-star and finals MVP.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

Agreed.  Bone bruises do heal over time but can take weeks or months and you need to rest.
