I continue to be surprised that people are kvetching/consternation about Lonnie Walker and Oshae Brissett.  I think Craig is better than either of them and he hardly plays, hardly moves the needle.  I would be happy with Brissett on a min deal, but you can't even measure the small amount he would move our needle.  I see Walker moving the needle even less.

I think where the roster ended up is completely understandable.  Craig is a little more useful than either Brissett or Walker.  Walsh and Scheierman are less useful but you aren't going to cut them (rookie deals) to make room for Brissett.  Tillman is certainly expendable.  In hindsight, Brissett would have been more useful than Tillman, probably, but I understand why they signed him.  He has been a disappointment, but I understand and probably would have kept Tillman over Brissett too.  At the time, he seemed like a better fit.

I doubt any of these guys, Brissett, Walker, Springer, Tillman, would change the outcome of even 1 game, and definitely not in the playoffs.
Yep. I can't get myself too upset about not adding another player who wouldn't play at all in the playoffs.

Not every guy on the roster will have a playoff role. Some are just there to allow the starters to rest in the regular season.

That said, my guess is that if we had signed Walker, he would be projected to be in the playoff rotation.

What exactly is Tillman doing wrong ?
I watch most of the games and he doesn't get enough minutes to do anything good or bad.
Any player needs consistent court time to even have a chance to play well and contribute.
Two minutes every third game doesn't tell us anything or give Tillman much chance to develop.

He actually did play in the postseason last year.

Earlier today, Brissett had 13pts, 5rebs, 2stls on 6-9 shooting.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Yeah, but Open Roster Spot has been really contributing to the Celts this year, haha.

When your top rotation is pretty much set you have to find less important pieces to worry about  :P

Yeah, I get it.  As I said, I actually was surprised they didn't bring Brissett back.  Glad to see he is getting a chance to showcase for next season.  He is a very likeable player, works hard, does whatever is asked, whatever is needed.  Guys like that are good to have on the team.  I think he wanted a bigger role though.  I don't think he wanted to come back.

In hindsight, Brissett would have been better than Tillman has been, probably.  But keep in mind that Brissett averaged 3.7 pts and shot 27% from 3 for the Celtics last season.  He was not that good.  Better than Tillman has been so far this season, but that is not saying much.

Didn't Brissett want a bigger contract?

Sort of.  He could have opted in to the second year of his minimum contract.  He was hoping for a deal where he'd have either have more security or more playing time.  He didn't get either.
