What I found interesting about the game was the defensive scheme that Udoka put out. He doubled and even tripled Tatum every chance he could. He must have felt that was the way to stop the Celtics. It didn’t work because everybody hit their shots. But interesting that with Udoka’s inside knowledge, that is how he chose to defend.

Missed the game yesterday. C’s scored 145 points in regulation! How did that happen? Thought Ime was supposed to be some sort of defensive wizard.  ???

Celtics: 24-47 from 3 = 72 points
Houston: 7-30 from 3 = 21 points

Basically we had a 51 point advantage because of the 3s we shot. Maybe that's why Joe wants them to keep chucking  :police:

19-0....yea baby!

Is that Celtics home win record?

If I understand it correctly, it’s the best start at home. But it’s not the longest streak which I assume belongs to the 86 Celtics who went 40-1 overall at home in the regular season.

Edit: So the longest home winning streak by the Celtics is at 38 games which they did from the 85-86 season to the 86-87 season. We’re halfway there!

https://champsorchumps.us/team/nba/boston-celtics/longest-winning-streaks#:~:text=What%20is%20the%20longest%20home,and%20the%201986%2D87%20season.

People forget how great that 86 Celtics team was. They weren't playing against plumbers either. They were playing against a ton of elite guys like Magic Johnson, Isiah Thomas, Patrick Ewing, Dr. J, Charles Barkley, Moses Malone, Kareem, etc.

You could easily build a team from the 80s that would beat any team from any other era.

Udoka doesn’t need inside knowledge to do what most should coaches do: double/triple-team the C’s best player. Not much other choice.
