Just want to stick this game in Kyrie's ear, he had such a typical, contrived comment after game 4, talking about Doncic responding with a big game,
"I think he made people eat their words in a healthy way." Huh ? Kyrie and his psycho-babble.

If you thought these few days were long, just wait if we lose Game 5 and then have to wait a few more days for a road Game 6. That'll be ultimate torture. Everything is set up for them to win and clinch it tomorrow night, and hopefully Friday was a "wake up call" and a game where they got all the "bad" out.

You?re right about that. A loss tomorrow night will sting badly and the wait for Thursday will be endless.

Loss tomorrow in my opinion would ensure this goes 7 games. That?s just a disaster

Yeah that's the thing, if we lose tomorrow night I think this then goes 7, and that's scary with Dallas having all the momentum at that point. They need to squash them tomorrow night.

Anyone who can confidently say that one thing is going to happen is lying.  This team has proven that there?s no telling how they?re going to play game to game or quarter to quarter.  As much as it would suck for them to lose in game 5, it would mean nothing as it relates to game 6.  That obviously won?t be what the talking heads say nationally, but a lot of them are already picking the Mavericks to do something that?s never been done in the history of the Association after one win

I agree with you regarding no telling what will happen tomorrow and that it won?t have actual bearing on what will happen in G6.

What I disagree with a bit is the idea that this team has been inconsistent.  Though they?ve shown in-game extremes, overall this team has consistently won games - both in the regular season and in the playoffs. And, they?ve consistently followed losses with good effort and wins.  None of that makes me confident about tomorrow night but that?s more related to my anxiety than it is a reflection on the 2023-24 Celtics, who led the league throughout the vast majority of the season and has continued the same win pace through the playoffs.

I disagree with you both a bit about one game not having a bearing on the next.  I think if we had come into Game 4 with it 2-1, we would have been more focused and played harder.  Similarly, if we drop Game 5 I think there's a chance that the Celts start to overthink things, etc.

I think we came into game 4 too tight. And it reflected in how we played. I think that?s why you hear them saying ?it?s just another game? Joe wants them to play loose.

It?s almost like the close out game got to them in game 4. And everything front rimmed and they found themselves down quickly

There was no doubt that the thought of a title was in their head and got to them to start the game.  Then it just snowballed.  The pressure or the bigness of the moment affects players in different ways.  And the negative affects are more pronounced on the road, in general.

I can keep saying all this over and over in my head, I know that it is logical, but it is hard to convince myself.  We are up 3-1, we have a home game, we are favored by the books, why am I so nervous?

I don't know if we were too tight.  Rather, I think that the team let down after being up 3-0.  They assumed the win would be easy, and Dallas came out with a different gear.

If this team is who they have been all year then they win tonight. If ghosts from history past start creeping in this is going 7 and it?s anyone?s series
