Folks are pointing to a bad plus minus for Grant but I would guess he was put on the floor with the scrubs a lot, not the starters.

What scrubs were we playing in the playoffs?

Look if Grant Williams will accept something like 3/33m, I'd be happy  for the Celtics to keep him.

But reports are he will seek something closer to the 20m per season range.

And for that kind of money I would have to pass.  I don't see him nearly as valuable as Marcus Smart who earned a 4/76m extension.

But we'll see, it only takes one team to make a crazy offer for us to walk away.  If someone offers 4/76 or higher, it was nice knowing you Grant!

He didn't play all that much in the playoffs. A bit more at the end because finally Joe realized he has to play him. It seems you would be against Grant even at $10M per year. I just don't get it, but to each their own.

At $10 million he's probably moveable next season.

But, he wasn't good in the playoffs when he got time, just like he was terrible in the Finals.  He's undersized, unfocused and unreliable .  There are a lot of free agents that I would prefer.

Agreed, too unreliable. Somebody else please Brad!

I don’t really care if we lose him and there are people I would rather have than that can probably be cheaper, but he is definitely better than Thomas bryant. Bryant may just be a camp invite guy for next season after his complete benching in Denver.

Think he is going to have a reality check hit home on his value

Yeah, his value might be shot to the point where it makes sense to keep him.

I'm of the opinion we didn't really see the true value of Grant Williams because our team was built to face the Milwaukee bucks and they got ousted by the Miami Heat. He was really solid defending Giannis last year. If he comes cheap, why not? also not sure how much his hand injury played into his decline in shooting.

the question becomes, are there other bigs we can get for cheaper, or even vet min guys that we can throw at Giannis that would be just as effective? At this point our roster moves are

Grant S&T
Vet min guys looking for a ring
$5m MLE

Do you think the DNPs were used  to decrease his value, so we could keep him?

I 've seen teams stop guys from getting bonuses by taking them out of games before they meet a benchmark in the NFL especially,

He was the only one playing with fire early in the Miami series when we were getting killed. I get you just don't like him and that's fine, I don't like Pritchard in the same way. But the grass isn't always greener on the other side. His 3 point shooting is good and he has shown flashes of potential. Hard for me to take replacing him with Thomas Bryant seriously, though.

I have thought about that and mentioned it earlier.. but probably it is just that Coach Slow Joe is just incompetent. Just like he didn't start Robert Williams until it was too late.
