I mean come on! I have closely followed the Celtics since the 60's. The team we have now is incredible! Do you even realize how many times this team has been among the last 4 NBA teams still standing? Winning is fun and right Now as a Celtics fan, you have had a lot of winning!! Yes Titles are great, but Only 1 TEAM per you get's that!! What is everyone complaining about!!! Holy Crap, I hate this site!!! A bunch of spoiled babies!!!
This team has been truly amazing to watch and all everyone does on this site is cry!!!
You should all live in Atlanta, or Utah or Denver or Just about any other city in the country!!!
Just Stop and enjoy your Celtics!!!!!!!!!! THEY WIN more than most teams in the NBA!!

I also have been a Celtics fan since the 60's.
One title in 36 years is unacceptable and is why we are upset.
The Celtics are not your average franchise. Just being "pretty good" is not good enough.
The tradition and the unparalleled fan base demand better.

Obviously, there is no way to repeat the Bill Russell era, 11 titles in 13 seasons.
But it is perfectly reasonable to expect what we saw from the Cowens and Bird eras.
Garnett's team won a title and deserved better, but bad luck and the league worked against them.

The bottom line issue is really ownership and management.
They are the ones ultimately making decisions on players and coaches.
As innovative and fun as the Brad Stevens experiment was, it is obvious we need pro guys in charge.
We also need ownership willing to pay for and support a winner.

The franchise needs a shakeup across the board to capitalize on a team capable of winning titles.

I know, right? Promoting Brad when he's never had any experience as a GM or worked in the front office? Giving a 3-year extension to a Division II college coach who's accomplished nothing since entering the league? I know being unconventional and thinking outside the box sometimes works, but what the hell is Wyc thinking?

I don't know. Maybe it will all work out in the long run. I'm sure we'll be back in the ECF. Our team is good enough to win a championship.

what has Brad done as GM that has been bad? brought back Al, brought in Brogdan/Gallinari. He's been pretty good so far.

Ainge hit his shelf life here. too obsessed with the undersized scoring guards and hoarding picks.

Yes. Brad as a GM might still work out, and I'm hoping it will. All I meant was that it was (and still remains) an unconventional hire. We have a small sample size, but so far he's been (mostly) good. Going forward, he has big decisions to make about this team's core. Does he keep Marcus Smart on the roster? Does he give Jaylen Brown a supermax contract? Those are really big decisions that will shape the future of this team. This is his moment of truth. He's already made one bad decision in hiring Joe. If his inexperience causes him to make another mistake regarding Smart or Brown, it could cost us dearly. Just saying.

Sorry if I sound too negative.

I started watching the Cs when I was a kid in the mid 80s, so the Bird-McHale-Parish era was my introduction to the NBA. Like many of us here I've seen many wins and losses, I've seen a couple of championships, and some truly horrific seasons. Over the years I've developed somewhat of a thick skin when it comes to losses. Obviously they're disappointing but they don't bother me as much as others here. I don't think it's due to a lack of passion as I actually like seeing if the team can overcome adversity but I try not to let my day be ruined by the team if they play bad   :police:

That said, I totally understand why people are upset. Sometimes it does get over the top, the overreactions, but that's why fans is short for fanatic. And the grass is always greener on the other side I agree - at least 25 fanbases would probably rather be in our position but a lot of folks have a championship or bust approach. If you finish 2nd, 3rd or 4th it's the same as last. And that's fine, we all cheer for the team in our own way. Having cheered for the Red Sox for a couple decades till 2004, with no expectation of winning, made me enjoy the journey as well as the destination  :)

Fan since the mid 70's.  Vague memories of the 74 & 76 champs.  Grew up with the Bird era, which was awesome.  I've always enjoyed watching this team, even some of the horrible versions.
Yup

I'm 25, saw a title when I was 10 (in 4th or 5th grade I believe). So I probably haven't suffered as long as others here  :P

The team has not acted like a contender since the Brogdon trade.  Let multiple TPE's expire.  Carried essentially 5 worthless roster spots for most of the year while reducing payroll during the season.  Hired a 34 year old head coach that had never even been a #2 coach in the NBA and then didn't bring any experienced coaches for the bench to help him.  Made basically 1 very minor trade deadline move for a player that is completely out of the playoff rotation and has played just 10 minutes in the playoffs.  This is not what a team that is actively trying to win a championship does.  They aren't trying to lose, but they aren't trying to win either.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Bigs - Shaquille O'Neal, Victor Wembanyama
Wings -  Lebron James
Guards - Luka Doncic

I have to say I agree with everything in this post.  TP for you.
