The Raptors have turned down a lottery pick from Portland previously, as well as a reported three #1s from another team.  We don’t have the ammunition.

Poeltl is unlikely, but at least he’s a realistic target.

If Brad wanted to All in  we could offer peyton, Grant, 3 firsts 3 seconds plus Filler. That probably gets it done.

Is it worth that probably not, but that  would secure a title this year.

You also have to match the 17 million OG makes.

For that cost, OG without question.

Problem is he’d cost more
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

Not to hard. That's PP, Grant,  Gallo, Jackson and Blake

So 5 players and 6 picks for OG... Seems like what you give up for a star.

Dollars work by dealing Gallo, Grant, Pritchard and Hauser (you could substitute Jackson for Hauser, but they’re going to want Hauser—doubt Blake would wanna be dealt to Toronto and Blake is too popular among all players to p--- off). Am guessing we would need to add 2-3 unprotected first-round picks to get them to bite. Too risky to go all-in for OG for two years after this year IMHO, because those picks combined with JB may land us a superstar in the off-season, but not if we deal them for OG. On the other hand, it may all but guarantee the title this year if we don’t get bit by the injury bug—these eight good men throughout the playoffs likely means the title (but if two go down, we’re probably toast):

Smart/D-White
JB/Brogdon
OG/Brogdon
JT/Horford
Timelord/Horford

Bench: Kornet, Griffin, Jackson, (3) open spotsfor buyout candidates and/or Davison

Probably not. He was not even part of the 2019 playoff run that yielded their only title. There is an interesting dynamic to this move from a business standpoint: OG is the best British basketball player in the world today, if not all-time, so the Celtics instantly expand their popularity in that market, including the Irish market—possibly more than offsetting the marginal increase in luxury taxes.

According to SNY’s Ian Begley, the Knicks made an offer for Anunoby in December, before the eight-game winning streak that vaulted them back into playoff contention. And they were willing to pay a pretty hefty price. Per Begley: Also worth noting: in their conversation about Anunoby prior to the winning streak, New York was comfortable offering multiple first-round picks for Anunoby. I don’t think these talks were at an advanced stage at that point. But all of the above strongly suggests that team decision-makers have, so far, focused on improving the roster for at the Feb. 9 trade deadline.

You beat me to it.  I had just seen this.  I am guessing the Knicks offered Fournier or Rose to match salary, plus a bunch of picks, and they still couldn't get the player they want.  As I recall, many of the Knicks picks are highly protected with some likelihood they become second round picks in 3 or 4 years.  They do have all of their own first round picks I think.

I can see Toronto wanting players, not just picks.  They are a decent team, they just have too much of their talent tied up with similar players.  Barnes, Anunoby, Siakam, all kind of similar, good players but none really stars.  VanVleet and Trent are decent guards but again, kind of similar.  Both scorers first, defense and facilitation secondary.

What I see Toronto needing is a complementary guard and a defensive center, not Evan Fournier and some picks that may end up being seconds.

One thing consider is we would we trade a guy who we don't think we could resign that an other team might?    Would this and a pick do it?    I realize it depends on the asset, etc.
