Yabusele just turned 27 and looks like he’s gotten into shape and played well for Real Madrid this past season. Anybody watch any games with him lately? Think it’s possible we could bring him back as a bench guy? Or will he never be an NBA talent, even as an emergency no. 11-14 guy? I remember fantasizing in 2016 about him blossoming into the next Draymond, so I’m still holding out hope he’ll make it in the NBA someday. Ya gotta love the nickname, personality and hustle of the dude. Could be a great comeback story?

Some recent highlights, which are quite impressive and worth a look: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=-N3Ljb7yMAA

Fun interview he did recently: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TPtZQBKAOZs

Once his contract with Real Madrid ends, I say, ‘what the heck?’ and bring him in for a tryout?

He’s making enough with Madrid, and will have enough Euro offers when that ends, that he is past the “bring him in for a tryout” phase of his career.  He either gets a guaranteed deal or he doesn’t sign, no tryout needed.

I mean, Real Madrid is the real deal outside of the NBA. They could take the best NCAA team in most any year. I’m shocked by what I’m seeing when I look into what Yabu’s been up to. Of all the Danny draft picks who flopped out of the NBA, he’s the only one I can see making his way back into a role in the NBA. I think it would be a great comeback story and the dude is still only 27, so it’s possible he could become a serviceable rotation guy with a little more growth.

He is signed through 24/25 season.  If for some reason Grant is no longer viable then, he'd be a good replacement.  They have similar games.

He's way more athletic now than when we had him.  Nice to see him in shape.
