When Gallo went down with an acl, there was much concern about who would take his place. Some of us here (including me) wanted to get Melo. But with the emergence of Hauser as a reliable sharpshooter, does Gallo still have a role to come back to? Were Sam and Gallo envisioned to play together in the court with regular minutes?

There have been a lot of suggestions here for Gallo to be traded for front court help. I for one think that it would be a very bad look if the Celtics traded an injured Gallo. Also, would it be that easy to trade him since technically he isn’t an expiring contract (player option)?

Ideally, I’d love for Gallo to stay and see what he brings to the table next season. Keeping him will also show future free agents that the Celtics do take care of their players.

Obviously he doesn't have much of any value, so I assume you mean traded to match salaries?  I mean, it all depends on what is coming back and what we have to give up.  TBH, the Gallo part is almost not even relevant here.

With Sam’s emergence, the door is open to keep Gallo. I maintain that the team wanted him to play the 4 and 5 role in bench lineups.

A bench lineup of Danilo-Grant-Hauser-Starter-Brogdon is a sharpshooting juggernaut, a drive and kick dream. With Danilo already walking and rehabbing, he might be available before the end of the regular season.

Sam is a SF, Gallo is a PF, so I’m not sure Hauser playing well justifies moving Dannilo. I was never a fan of the Gallinari signing. Team really needed a backup 5, not another PF. Feel like Gallo and Grant on the floor together would have been bad anyway.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I read a suggestion somewhere of trading Gallo, Pritchard, and a first round pick for Jakob Poeltl.  That makes a lot of sense to me.  We can’t trade Gallo until Dec 15th though and Poeltl is a free agent after this season.  I think it would be worth it as we need rebounding and rim defense and I don’t think we can count on R Williams.

I like Poeltl for this team but he'd probably only be a rental due to salary. But he'd be a push the chips in move.

I would love to see Gallo play in a C's uniform and I think you could play him with Hauser as long as you have defensive minded players alongside. The spacing of a potential Brogdon/Tatum/Hauser/Gallo/Al lineup is a beautiful dream.

I just want an impact-now type of player to contend. Since Gallo is out for the season in no fault of the C's, if we can trade Gallo this season, then let's go for it. Get us a front-court player PBS!
