What's the board's take on what to do with Payton Pritchard?

He's shown the last couple of games what his impact can be and I get the impression he's got value around the league. The problem is when the C's are healthy, there's just no room for him in the rotation. So should the Celtics trade him for a position they are more in need of like a wing or big?

On the other hand, other guards likely have more value and can bring back a bigger return in a trade. Does it make more sense to trade Derick White, who has a bigger contract and presumably more value? White has value and the C's don't want to trade him but if Pritchard can slide into a bigger role following the deal and a better player could be acquired this way, this might be the best answer.

On the other hand, we definitely haven't seen the last of the injuries to Bogdon or Smart. And White and Jaylen are going to miss time too. Having Pritchard is good insurance. The team is 12-3 without its starting center so consternation about the big rotation may have been overblown. Maybe we should keep things the way they are and enjoy the Pritchard games as they come.

First time ever I say keep everyone. Just feel the chemistry is good and guys will miss games so need some redundant players unfortunately.

Keep him unless there's a trade that clearly makes the team better.

Don’t trade him just for the sake of it.  If we can upgrade another position (center), then I wouldn’t hesitate, but I don’t know that such an opportunity will be available.  We still have him under contract next season.

Possibly trade him for a late first or a couple of seconds after this season. Davison may be ready to be the backup or third string point guard next year.

This.

Our title window is open. We are all in. He’s good enough to give playoff minutes to if there’s a need, and there very well might be.

I enjoy having a third-string guy who can play, personally.

We have a lot of guys who miss games, particularly at guard with Smart and Brogdon.  We shouldn't take for granted the fact that Pritchard is good enough to make those absences tolerable.

I’m feeling exactly this way right now. Maybe the season starts to play out differently down the road but right now the team is a team. Don’t mess with it.

+1. We’re a deep team but have some very fragile guys. He’s a solid option to have if a key player needs to miss games. And more importantly, we’re winning as a team now, no need to mess with chemistry.

My inclination is to let things ride but this sounds more like a vote to trade him.
