…we basically just turned our non-lottery 2023 pick (protected for top 12, conveys as a second rounder if top 12) into a definitive 6th man of the year candidate in Brogdon (I mean, unless you really think Theis and Nesmith brought value—clearly Nesmith and Romeo were not picks Brad would have made at the helm).

I mean, even if we do nothing else, we are already better than we were three weeks ago. Consider the rotations available:

Smart/Brogdon or White
JB/White or Smart
JT/JB or Batman
Horford/Batman or Gallinari
Timelord/Gallinari or Horford

And we still have the TPE available plus room at the end of the bench for ring-chasing vets.

Even if we do not do the TPE or another trade, I’m giving this off-season an A+

Bottomline: In Brad We Trust.

Yeah, I’m good where we are and am not expecting or blaming the owners for letting the tpe expire.  We upgraded more than anyone could have reasonably expected.

Moving JB to bring in KD would certainly be similar to moving Goff for Stafford. All my JB trade ideas are like that, the seemingly crazy notion of moving one of our elite players I like for a slightly more elite player who can get us a championship, rather than seeing us fall short in hopes of next time somehow being different. I knew exactly what Maverick McVay was doing when he moved Goff and it was the right move. It was the only move to get past TB12.

I know I give JB a hard time sometimes (and perhaps it should be redirected at Smart), but I really do love him. I just love rings more.

Absolutely. We are very good now, but still thin on rim- protection.

The thing is, Brad has done it without giving up any picks further than a year out (there's the 2028 swap but that still means we have a pick that year) which is awesome. It still leaves us plenty of ammo to add another piece, either now or if a good fit becomes available at the deadline.

Sounds right to me.  They may use part of the Fournier TPE but certainly not the whole thing as they are already in the +$20-25M over the cap territory.  You should be able to get a serviceable backup center for way less than $17M.
